Nervous Excited Anxious Impatient
There are all the things I am feeling ... and many that I cant put into words!
I still have 23 days but that is only 3 weeks. Two paychecks, I am nervous about not having money because I will be out of work for some time. My husband works but we are used to 2 incomes! I think we will be okay ... I was planning on the surgery in mid-august but my surgeon had one date left in July and gave it to me. I am glad that I talked to my boss last week and let him know that this will be happening but he was shocked that it was so soon as well! That excites me because I have been trying to get ready for this for 6 months, attending meetings dieting and things like that per my insurance provider. Now that I have 23 days I dont know what to do I am going to have to shop and cook ahead of time and clean my house top to bottom do all the laundry and hire a maid! (My husband doesnt do much housework) I have so much to do but it seems silly to start all of this right away! I think as of right now I am concerned about what to take to the hospital a checklist or something. So that I know what I should pack and I can do that the week of along with everything else. But I plan on working the week of surgery since it is on a friday I can work my regular schedule I am off Thursday and Friday. I am going to try and find a checklist if I do I will post it later!

First - Welcome to the boards and congrats on your approval and date
Second - we are all in that same ole big boat! Everyone of us feels the exact same way that is why we are here for each other!
Check some of the older posts, there are some about things to bring to the hospital, things that you will not need there and some ideas of what to have at home when you get home.
Good luck,
Nancy

Hi there, surgery twin. We have the same date. From what I have read, take very little to the hospital. Chapstick is on every list, camera, your own pillow (helps on the way home also) I plan on taking my portable cd player and my favorite Christian music (may help to drown out any noise my roommate makes, if I have one) and the listerine things you put in your mouth (dry mouth=yucky). Plus normal hygiene things of course. The less to mess with the better is my feeling. Wow, had stopped counting the days-23 left-whew...getting close
3 Weeks to go ... I need to make it to the post-op support groups but I have to work!!! I hate that I cant go. I dont want to take off work for fear of not having money while I am out of work!
I will figure it out I guess .... I have calmed down a little bit. I think I have pushed it to the back of my mind and it will come up again when they call me for my pre-op testing!
