Hi everyone The support here is great, honest to God. I have met and talked to so many good people with so much to say. I don't know what I would do without it. This site is like a recovery room with so much information from good and kind people that are waiting or already had the surgery. I think from personal experiences that getting information from people who have been there or are going through it is much more vital than from someone who has "NO" idea what we are going through. We are also very brave people too. This is a very big step for me and a long hard decission I had to make and probably one of the hardest and I'm happy I'm not alone Cheri

Cheri, I agree, this is a supportive little group here on this "July" month forum however I haven't had a whole lot of help from the main board. Really people just used to come in here and post their dates and thats about it then we all just started talking and I'm glad. I don't have to go looking around for support. I tried the local forum for my surgeon on here and it hardly had people posting. I just wi**** had spell check.

You know something Dawn, I too found that the main board wasn't very helpful and also saw what you saw, they posted and left. I've been coming here since May 12th or so. As soon as I was told about OH I looked it up and here I am. They could'nt throw me off I tried the local forum for my area to and didn't really like it. For some reason people just don't post and I even checked out certain people who have the same Dr. and e-mailed them but I got no replies. Oh well If you're referring to my spelling (like dissision LOLOL) I to wish they had spell check

I never knew that they had a forum for each individual month until I posted my date. I LOVE this site! I feel like we are all in the same boat, with the same oars and everything. I read the main board but hardly ever post there. I also read the IL board but it is very slow. I like the people there, do not get me wrong, it is just a very slow board. THIS BOARD ROCKS!!!! Thank you everyone for making everyone feel very welcome and comfortable here!! Nancy PS I too wish there was a spell check but oh well, we have to accept what we have and be thankful for it!!!

Cheri, I agree - I love this new board I've found. This will be my main board - so be prepared! The main board is way too busy for me, I get lost, but I get alot of info from them. My state board is good too, but again - I'm very happy to have found people who are as new to the surgery as I am because we won't get sick of each other's stupid questions! LOL HUGS Kimberly

I would agree that this is also a great board. I'm very fortunate to spend time on two other places that have been excellent - the DS board and the Pennsylvania board. keeping each other up and being there is really critical in this process....I try to do my best to be there as much as I can for anyone that has questions. No one is alone here Sharon

Good morning ladies I don't understand Sharon what is a DS board? Also how do I look up the board in my state which is Ct.? Another thing we will never get board of each others quetions because the most of are having surgery around the same time and we can keep bothering each other all the time. You's will definitly hear alot from me ********************************Cheri

Hi cheri, ask as many questions as you need. The DS stands for Duodenal Switch, which is the type of surgery I am having. I notice you have "other" listed in your profile...what surgery are you having performed? Also - you should have the CT state board showing up on the left side of your screen....under "other message boards". This is based on what you put in your profile, and you do already have CT listed as your home state. Hope this helps. Sharon
