Gonna get my chance
Well, I said I wanted to be an inspirational speaker and now I'm gonna get my chance.
I'm going to speak at the OH event in Detroit!
A dear friend of mine runs the surgical program for one of the sponsoring doctors. She also runs one of the support groups I attend. Anyway, she sent out an email asking for volunteers to give a short speech about their WLS experience and I said I would. Today she confirmed that I am on the list of speakers and my name would even be in the program.
Quite frankly this is something I would have never dared to do pre-op. All I wanted to do then was hide in the background.(behind a VERY large tree)
Gotta come up with a 5 to 10 minute speech about my experience. Time to summon the writer in me.
I wonder if I can make it rhyme? Hmmmmmm......
Here stands Tim before you
there were days a fore this
he would not have talked
aloud....
with all thee looking at him
but now by god
here he stands and if you don't like what you see
you can kiss his skinny arse before ye..
Hmmm... Maybe it needs something? LOL!!!. Oh Timmy Boyo! I am very happy for you, Make us proud and give em all the best that you got!!! I would love to read what you are going to say when you write it. Do you get a bit of just off the cuff or do you bring something prepared? OY! Bring something prepared? It still sounds like your going to a pot luck.. Yeah a potluck for hundreds of will be losers.. Just like us!!
Peace
Mo
