Question for my July buddies
Changes I've made,
Before WLS I would eat half of a pepperidge farm cake, followed by a quart of whole milk, and then maybe 5 cigarettes. I could eat half a bag of mini reeses cups, and I could eat two big macs, fries and a large coke. And, I was diabetic.
Today, I do not eat sugar, I do not smoke, I do not eat candy, and i do not eat fried foods, cokes, or big macs. I do not eat at fast food restaurants and I drink water or plain ice tea with lemon, no sweetener. I am no longer diabetic.
I eat 5-7 meals a day, small portions, that of a child's size, use a smaller plate, and chew very slowly. If I feel rushed when out with friends, I merely push my plate away and say I'm done, and take it home. Many of my friends are not WLS patients and do not understand the chew chew chew concept. I order water at restaurants to have it there, only taking a small sip if I need to help something go down.
And finally, I walk about 20 miles per week indoors or out, and make darn sure that I get in my 64 ounces of water per day, and take my vitamins as prescribed.
I never did that before. Walk, take vitamins and drink water? Who? Fatty me?
Not on your life.
I simply was tired of being fat and sick and tired. So I made the change.
Now, 168 lbs later, (gone) I am just 2 lbs from goal. And my TT was done in Oct 06 and a revision in May 07. I am surely on the road to great things!
