I Went Skiing, I fell and I Got UP!
Back in the beginning, before the surgery, we were making lists about things we'd do once we lost our weight. I did one of them last week.
I went skiing at Whistler.

The first picture in the set is of an electrical substation. I sent it to the people I work with (now that I'm a consultant and no longer an electric company employee) as a joke. Kind of a busman's holiday type of thing. I labeled it "vacationing at Whistler" and e-mailed it to them. They gave me a bad time about it. The lady who kind of looks like me, wearing all black, that is my older sister Vicki. Some of you met her last July in Las Vegas.
Anyway -- it was cool to:
- be able to ski, and fall down AND get up
- reach down and adjust my boot (my tummy was NOT) in the way
- pick up my poles when they fell over
- wear ski clothes from the regular ski shop that I bought on clearance
- have stamina to ski all day
Wasn't this surgery grand?

Wow Pam, that's fabulous!!! I am so happy for you! I haven't gone skiing yet but it's definitely on my list! What a cool thing it must have been to be able to buy ski clothes. DH & I wanted to play in the snow (too big to ski) a few years ago, and we would have had to special order our clothing & pay like 10 times the price to get snow clothes. Needless to say, we didn't go play in the snow! I can't wait to buy some snow pants & have fun in the winter! I *love* the snow so it's exciting to think I'll be able to have the clothes to do stuff in it! You're message about all that made me so happy & thinking about when I'll be able to do that, too.
Take care hun! It was good to hear from ya!
Hugs,
Lisa
