I feel liberated!
WOO HOO! Doctor pulled my drain tubes today! What a relief. Didn't hurt at all either. I still have to go see him one more time in another week but he seemed to think that would be the last visit needed. I'm still wearing the binder though. He advised me to wear that for at least another week. I also asked him about exercising. I haven't been doing any at all and feel like a total slug. While he told me no lifting still it would be OK for me to start walking again. So it's off to the gym for me to do some light treadmill!
I had a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and 2 hernias repaired. One at my RNY incision (I had an open surgery) and another in my groin. (OUCH!) I have almost no pain at all now. Just a little where the drains were and a little on my sides from the tummy tuck. I would only call it a 1 or 2 on a scale of 10. Not even taking any pain meds at all.
Hey Tim, what a relief getting those drains out! I remember feeling like I had given birth to an alien when I had mine removed after my gastric surgery. More than one, has to be tough. I know the binder is no fun, but I've heard it makes a difference in your results. Happy walking again! Any news on the job front?

continue healing and good health
Thanks Pattiann
I got lucky, my tummy tuck was covered due to me being able to document back pain and skin irritation directly related to the extra skin. The hernias would have made it so that the hospital and anesthesia costs would have been covered even if the tummy tuck itself was not. Go to your primary care physician now and lay the ground work as far as pain and skin problems go.
