It's a date!
Okay folks-- Update on the gallant Peter and I. We have set a date-- July 28, and have decided to do a very small wedding in NYC. I can't believe how much my life has changed--
Peter has already dealt with at least 3 wedding 'meltdowns,' and has been sweet and understanding about it. Who would have thought I would get silly about a wedding. I am having a hard time admitting I'm a girl.
I've decided to postpone plastics-- too much money going out the door this year-- Next year we will revisit.
I hope you are all doing well!
Lots of love,
Andrea
Im so happy for you guys.
I hear ya on the wedding melt downs! i have 2 months to go as of February 14th. Im having a pretty small wedding myself. About 85 people. And lord, the amount of details involved. Im about to throw the towel in and elope! I'll tell you, the time flies!! Did you pick out your dress? Give us some details!
.
No- That is the focus for this weekend. Appts. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at different places. I don't want a traditional wedding dress, and I don't want my arms to be showing (yuck) AND I don't want to spend a lot of money. Maybe I will wear a tshirt and jeans .
Ick, not looking forward to this.
We're not doing this at a church-- We're going to be wed at the reception site by a friend of the family who is a judge. Given that I'm Jewish and Peter is Catholic (or at least we were raised that way), it makes more sense.
We plan on staying in NYC for the time being.
Do you know I grew up in Yonkers, and my parents still live there?
Ya know, if you find a dress you like thats strapless, you can always add spaghetti straps and then have a sheer short capped sleeve added also.
I got my dress on clearance for $500.00 but it wound up costing me $400 for alterations!!!!! I had to have it taken in so much. Im still big a size 18, but at least im not a 32 + and 4x anymore. I dont think i look all that bad in my dress. its a halter top, A-line, the color is ivory. It actually flatters my shape, since i have a flabby tire around my stomach, it covers it up.
What kind of dress are you looking for? You said "non-traditonal", so im curious at what styles your looking at.
Im also being wed at the reception site...me and my fiance are not religious at all, so a friend of ours is marrying us too .
