My January
I've been retired one month and stayed busy with getting the house in order. The downstairs is freshly painted, carpeted, and boxes of 36 years of maital accumulation have been tossed.
Two weekends back, I spent time in Richmond VA attending a bariatric event put on by David at Goal's "Stapled Up." It was primarily a social event with a small measure of education. Those VA folks know how to party hardy but they are also a caring, gracious, and smart group of people. Their were also folks there from the northeast, south, and west. And there was the "wild bunch" from the "Sex before and after" board.
The Sat evening dance was themed New York disco and it was a blast. I danced my ass on (as opposed to off: not that much anymore).
I really enjoy bariatric brethren as they are walking the walk. I hope to meet some of you folks in the near future. Hell, you are my closest bariatric kin.
Nan, the VA girls said Hi!
Dave
Oh Dave I'm so jealous you got to go to VA! I hang out on the Sex board and have just been GREEN with envy at all the talk leading up to it & now I get regaled with all the talk afterwards. I'm hoping to go one of these times. I want to attend at least *one* OH function!
CONGRATS on being retired! Wow, that's got to feel so freaking amazing. I can't imagine not working. I bet you & your wife are having a blast. Once the honey-do-list is done anyway!
Take care and it was good to hear from you.
Hugs,
Lisa
Dave! Hello there! I am so jealous that you got to go to the VA event. I too would love to go to an OH convention one time. Congratulations on your retirement! Isn't it cool, you got that weight off , your health in order so you can enjoy this wonderful time in life? I am looking forward to it now where as once upon a time, the thought was a miserable one for me. You inspire us all!
