As we look back....
Good Morning fellow July babies. Merry Christmas to you all. I have just put the first of several things in to bake, so while waiting thought I would check in here for a minute. As this year ends, I look back on the things that 2006 brought to us all. For most, of course the weight loss we always dreamed, wished, longed for. The health resolutions we needed for so long. The "back among the living" times we had been missing out on, and so much more. We saw two of our own meet and now are going to share that new life, some who are now having the opportunity to start a new life, and some who had to say good bye to loved ones in our lifes. As many have reached "goal" we begin new journeys with possible plastics, or just dealing with the changes our new way of life affects us. We have shared laughs, tears, fears, and joys together and made friends we never knew where out there, but for that one common thread we shared, our WLS.
Here is hoping that the journey continues for 2007 with many more wonderful events life has in store, but good or bad, happy or sad, we stay together as the friends we have become. Hope your holiday season is happy!
What a wonderful post my Texas friend. You really put what Ive been feeling into words, hard to believe that so much time has passed since we started this journey and to look back and reflect on our "new selves" and the second chance that we've been blessed with is truly an amazing thing in itself.
Christmas was wonderful, full of happiness, smiles and ENERGY. Between the shopping and baking (and yes sampling the baked goodies too), its been wonderful. We are truly blessed.
I look foward to continuing on this untreaded territory with everyone in 2007. Ive been away for a bit but plan on keeping in touch as my New Year's Resolution.
Merry Christmas everyone and here's to yet another wonderful year ahead of us!

A lady of wonderful grace expressing sentiments that we all share..
What a year preparing for my "now" retirement. I'm in a great space and continuing to move forward at a great pace. I look forward to days without the physical and emotional pain that gripped me for a number of years. Each day brings new experiences: the pleasant far outweigh the worrisome and sad. I am so glad that so many of you had the surgery at an earlier age: your friends, family, and kids will share your even richer life.
Some of us are in the midst of emotional upheaval as this year ends. Still, we are better equipped physically to weather what happens and make an exquisite main entree of what life dishes us.
I wish all a greater measure of harmony during the coming year.
