News from Me!

Wow, it' s been quite some time that I've been on the boards ... life has been crazy!! I've been through a bit these past 3-4 months with 2 more surgeries (appendix in August and gall bladder in October), a house move and a hell of a commute that I just can't seem to get used to and now a possible job move. I picked up 10lbs (grrrrr) and am now seriously trying to loose 30-40lbs to get to goal before I go to South Africa in March '07 for the first time in more than 6 years ... I've been super busy at work so haven't had a chance to get online, and with my commute and it being dark when I get up and come home I've been so tired and seriously can't make it past 7:30pm at night. My commute sucks, although I knew that when we bought the house but winter weather really makes it yukky and my mom is still here, leaving 12/29 (so it's almost been 3 months) and keeping her busy keeps me busy!! We bought tickets last week to finally go to South Africa, and I'm pretty excited and scared at the same time. I really want to loose these last pounds and I'm trying to follow a low carb diet right now just to kick-start my weight loss again. I've looked at a few of the profiles and read some of the posts and you all look super amazing and seem to be doing good (Channon, sorry about the divorce - I'm thinking of you!!) Now that's a mouth full! You guys all look fab and glad you are all still here! Love ya lots and will probably stay in touch again once my mom goes home ...

Marlize: Remarkable, competent, and busy lady: Congratulations... head of the class, please... What a whirlwind you are weathering: surgeries,job changes, move, mom. You will lose some more. Step back when you can, sleep in, and enjoy. I hope your trip is a great one. Dave

Thanks Dave and BTW, you look DAMN GOOD!!! I barely recognized you ... you've done so well!! Hopefully I'll be a regular again on the boards once things settle down so I can catch up with everyone! Take care and keep on doing whatever your doing cuz you look awesome!!!!

Hi Marlize, I am so excited to hear that you are going to South Africa. I used to manage a travel agency and have traveled quite a bit. South Africa is my dream destination. I would love to go to Jo'berg, Soweto, down to Durban and then take the Blue Train down to Cape Town and out to Roben Island. What a dream! Where all are you going? Hi Shellie, This will be for pleasure since I was born and raised in S. Africa and haven't been home in more than 6 years. We will mostly be staying in Pretoria and do a week safari, a day at the Lost City at Sun City and then the rest of the time we will be visiting family and friends. The sight seeing is mostly for my husband who is American and haven't been there yet or met my family, I've been to most places so this trip is mostly for my family and friends. I'm really looking forward to it and will post some pics once I get back. Happy Holidays!!

Wow sounds like a great trip. I know you can do it. I am below goal now, but it is such a mind game to keep it off, and not get "anorexic" at the same time. You look great! Channon, where have I been? I had no idea? Things certainly change for us now...talk to me girl.
