What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
We're having 5 guests, so there will be 8 at the table. We have 21 pound bird to stuff. The house will smell grand!
Marge makes the cranberry mold and the pumpkin pies with splenda. It's great to cook with. We're not football fans (though my Louisville Cards are something else this year). We will probably play a game of Trivial Pursuit.
We'll have a selection of great wines to sample. Slow and extremely moderate for me.
I can eat anything, but my stoma remains small, so I have that added opportunity to NOT overfill.
I enjoy Thanksgiving and sharing it with friends.
Give thanks,
Dave
Im going to my fiance's family, and my mom, her boyfriend, and my sister and her boyfriend will also come. Im happy because this year is the first time that both families will have Turkey Day together. Im sure i'll be bad and eat all the fattening stuff, but hey, its Turkey Day, and we gotta treat ourselves sometimes, right?!?!? I just have to make a mental note to keep track of what im eating and not stuff myself, because i dont realize it and then i get so sick, i have to lay down.
And what is this? A love connection right here on the boards?!?!?!?! Was I the only one who missed that???? Thats awesome though!
Anyhow, on another note, since I still have to lose a lot of weight (like at LEAST 50 pounds), I just bought these herbal diet pills....lets hope they work. They have hoodia in them. They are called Cortisol, and the others that I got are some green tea pills...the one is to curb appetite, and the green tea ones are to fat burn. Who know if they'll work, but I can at least hope for the best. I took them today, and i guess i think i didnt feel as "snacky". But, that might be in my head.
Hi Debbie,
What a great topic!
My mother-in-law & her new husband just moved down from Alaska so we're going to have Thanksgiving at their house this year. DH & I used to host it at our house, but since surgery we haven't. Too much food & tempation that I'm not ready to handle yet.
Thanksgiving last year was actually pretty good. My brother had it at his house and it went pretty well. I made a plate with just a bit of everything on it and really enjoyed it. I'll be able to eat quite a bit more this year, but still nothing compared to how it used to be, so I'll be pretty good. There is no anxiety going in to it this year like last. I wasn't sure how I would handle it last year. Now I know that I can handle it, I'm looking forward to it.
Going to have DH put a turkey breast in the crock pot before we go, so the house will smell great when we get home. Yummy!
Take care and have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!
Lisa
