Plastic Surgery?
Hi Maureen,
I also have my first consult with a plastic surgeon this week - Thursday. I am looking at a tummy tuck, inner thigh lift and breast lift with implants. Each surgery runs about $5500.00. I have Aetna insuarnace and will be really curious to see what, if any, they cover. I know that my breasts won't be covered. I don't have enough there to have rashes or anything. My policy says that it doesn't cover legs but the rep at Aetna told me to try and to send as much docuementation as possible. I have been taking pictures of any redness I get under my belly and on my legs. Honestly, I don't get much but when I have the faintest of redness I rush to my primary care doctor to docuement it. My policy states that for a tummy tuck I have to have a pannus that hangs to the public bone and that I must have at least 3 months of doucmented rashes and irritation. I am making sure I docuement everything.
What type of tummy tuck are you looking at? I am really torn between the one with the scare at the panty line and a full abdonimoplasty with the anchor cut. My husband says he doesn't want me to look like Frankenstein but I don't really care about the scares .. I just want a tight, flat tummy. The scars on my inner thighs will surely be ugly but I refuse to wear shorts at this point so I guess I will just have to live with them.
Good luck at your appointment. Be sure to post an update!!

Hi Shellie,
Thats a whole lot of money and surgery you are talking about. I guess each of us has to do what they feel is right for themselves .. but girl.. how much have you lost? .. If I were getting all that I wanted done, I would look to have the most minimal of scars.. that is what I am thinking. .. I think you are brave and I will be calling my insurance company to get a run down on what if anything they might cover.. thanks Shellie!
peace
