Thanks babe, I'm feelin a bit better today. Nothing like a little love and support to brighten your attitude. That plus the fact that I got a call today from a placement company that saw my resume on Monster.com. Just got back from the interview with them and they are going to forward my resume to a prospective employer today.
Keepin' my fingers crossed!

Our world is turned upside down when our jobs change. Reading old messages, it seemed that you were ready to move on to new opportunities but stuck in the old "I'm not worth it" mode. That has been, and is, part of my "fat" way of thinking. Now I have to think lean and mean, and it is exhausting!
When the worst of the doldrum**** I go out for a walk. I have to get out of my mind and into the zen of physical sensations. Stops the thinking feelings and turns on the body feelings.... yeah man!
You, Tim, have been an inspiration for me, lurker that I am.
Feel the love, frances
hi babe.
oh my goodness.
i was feeling you when you wrote what you did - but honey, you are SO incredibly wonderful, strong, sincere and just plain smart. It may take some time, darlin, but everytime life kicks us in the ass - well, it may be for a reason - just may be we weren't meant to be where we were. just maybe it was safe and we were meant for SO much more. I KNOW this is the case with you. There is Something better out there coming your way. Be patient and calm and safe and keep trying..... and EXPECT good things to happen and they will. we're here for you, sweetie.
loveyamuch,

Hey Tim,
I haven't been on here in a few months, but your's is the first post I read. I was in the same situation (got laid off June 21) and just got a new job Sept 6!!! The one good thing I can say for the company that let me go - they paid for my surgery!! HAHA!!
Anyway, things will get better, they did for me! If you want any contacts of recruiters for contract and/or direct work, let me know - I live in Detroit and got my job in Auburn Hills. Hey, what do you do? My company is still hiring!!!
Darla
Hey Man, keep us posted on how you are doing.
It is very hard going through career issues. For me one of the hardest times of my life was when I lost my restaurant and on top of being bankrupted spent 3-4 months out of work. The only advice I can really give is to keep plugging away at. On top of that sometimes if you don't find what you want, just doing something like classes, job you don't really want, anything helps until the thing we really want comes along. I spent 2 months managing fast food before i found a new job I liked. It seems like it is always easier to find a new job if you employed or going to school.
I know my response is late and not overly chipper but hey just remember, things WILL get better. Just think you could be going through all this and be obese. So things could be worse.
Tim,
It's so hard to look at your beautiful smiling face on here and imagine depression at all. I completely understand though! Scott and I are still in the same situation. Just sitting here waiting on ANY news! It's driving us both nuts. Meanwhile Scott is having to train his replacement. This coupled with his mother's death has put him on edge. Thank God he doesn't bring his work home. He's a good man! I wish others would recognize his attributes and get us out of here!
Hopefully this new recruiter will help you out. Meanwhile, keep busy and keep your chin up. It'll happen! I KNOW IT!
God's perfect timing ya know? It's just hard to see it right now!
Love ya babe!

Tim,
I was thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. I'm glad you posted, even just to vent.
Andrea did a good post with some great suggestions. I'd like to add one. Volunteering. Volunteer doing something you like, maybe a field you are interested in exploring. You can be trained to be an emergency Red Cross volunteer if you want something more exciting than Habitat for Humanity or a Boys or Girls Clubs. There really is a huge variety out there. It will also cheer you up, get you involved in a "safe" way, and let you experiment. It may even open doors into other careers.
You are worth it. You are a great guy. We miss you, your posts, your poems.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Love you,
-Pam
Oh Tim, I'm so very sorry! You have been such a rock for us all. I don't even have the words to explain to you how much you mean to us. Even though I can post so infrequently, I've always gained so much strength & motivation from your posts. I *love* your sense of humor & poems.
I don't really have much more to add than what everyone else has suggested. Andrea & Pam had some fabulous ideas. Explore new things. Go outside your comfort zone.
Good luck my friend. I am thinking of you. You are a worthy & deserving man and you will find something. Like Channan said, it'll just take awhile to sift through it all.
In the mean time, here is a big {{{{{{HUG}}}}}} I want you to use that every time you're feeling down.
Take care,
Lisa
