Good news/Bad news
Well I had my 1 year follow up today with my surgeon. He was very very happy with everything. Bloodwork all came back normal, bmi good, everything basically good.
The Bad news is that I have ANOTHER hernia.
The Good news is that I have ANOTHER hernia.
This may be my ticket to plastics. We talked about my previous hernia and he said it sometimes happens that you get two. He also dosn't see a reason for me to wait until I'm 2 years out before plastics. So he is going to write a letter for insurance and contact the plastic surgeon about resubmitting.
So we'll see what happens. YEAH
First, congrats on the great checkup. More important than anything else!
Now...WOO HOO/ Sorry on the hernia!
As long as it doesn't hurt thats a great thing.
Insurance companies should pay for ALL bariatric plastics considering how much money we're saving them in the long run.
Not surprised on your checkup, you've done AWESOME!

lucky/unlucky dog.... geesh... i emailed my insurance (healthpartners) and because i have such back problems and some rashes- on an email i got that it would be approved if the surgeon writes a letter... and now the NURSE practioner that i see from teh surgeon (i haven't seen the REAL surgeon since the day of surgery) said i have to lose 9 pounds in 3 months and THEN she'll say plastics... but come on- since my visit with her- i've lost and gained the same fricken 2-3 pounds.. IT"S NOT COMING OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH...
