OK a couple of things:
1st off I have fallen to peer pressure and put up an updated avatar photo and a more current pic on my profile.
2nd item. I actually had someone today who I had never met before say they couldn't believe that I was once heavy. Someone else had told them I had surgery and when we were talking they said they wouldn't have guessed it. They thought I looked like a "runner".
3rd item. I said earlier in the week I had a story to share about my flight home. Well I will try and make this short. I get on the plane to come home and I am next to the window, a petite woman is in the aisle and this very large gentleman is in the middle seat. (I felt so bad for him, because I've been him). Long story short I didn't want to say hey you should do what I did, but as we talked during the flight I manipulated the conversation around to get him to ask me about what I had done. It turns out his wife had WLS and he sorta tried but got turned down my insurance and gave up. I spent the rest of the flight encouraging him to go for it and promised to send him a couple of websites that he could use as resources to fight the insurance company. He is a slam dunk for approval. Probably a 50+ BMI, blood pressure, apnea and had a heart attack 1 1/2 years ago. It was the closest I've ever come to being a "salesman" for WLS but it was the right time and he was very receptive to hearing about it.
Anyway hope to see you all in chat on Sunday evening. Be there or be square!
