My down-fall/Last meal
Soooo out of curiosity............what was your food down-fall before surgery? What did you binge on or couldn't do without?
Mine was Cheez-its and Dr. Pepper
&
French bread with tons of butter.
My last meal before wls......Proschutto stuffed chicken and linguini with a red cream sauce and of course....Tiramisu! I washed this down with about a gallon of Dr. Pepper.
It felt like they were about to "put me down"....like a dog.
I was so bummed out after that meal....knowing it would be my last for a good long while.
It's funny though.........I CAN eat those things now, but have very little desire to anymore. I think they actually scare me a bit.
So what was it for you?
Malibu
Chocolate & sweets are my downfall. OMG I am such a sugar ***** I do dump, but it takes a bit more than I'd like for it to happen, so that bums me out. But hey, it's better than nothing.
My last meal was Roadhouse Grill. I *love* that place. All the food is so rich & yummy. And very filling! They have the best bread there, too. Very yeasty & sweet. I love bread & pasta, too. With lots of cheese. One of my last meals (lunch w/a girlfriend) was a chicken/pasta/swiss cheese bake. Oh my goodness was it yummy! I missed pasta a lot more than I thought I would. I also had this uber cake/ice cream thing that was to DIE for.
It's getting to where I don't miss the portions I used to enjoy. I like not being able to finish anything. Having space on my plate when I give myself some food. It's very liberating.
I do eat some pastas & breads, but not a lot. I find satisfaction in a lot less now. I don't need to be stuffed on it. Just a couple of bites of bread and I'm good. That's nice. I am so grateful for this surgery!
Good questions/topics Malibu! Love ya girl!

My downfall was pizza. I would always find the two-for-one deals and order. It didn't matter what size it was and I would order a side withthem also (mostly wings) and then eat it all. Of course, I had to have a two liter of pop with this also. I would do this almost every week.
My last meal, though, was a Pages Pounder. This is a 1 pound burger and I had them add bacon to it. Then they smothered it with chili and served it with corn chips. Ate the whole thing. Have been to the same restaurant since but have not even looked at this on the menu.
My new "have to eat" is Fruit and Cool Whip. I take fresh fruit, cut it up and mix it with Fat Free Cool Whip. I have this about every night. Usually 3 nectarines, a package of blueberries, and a package of raspberries with cool whip will last me three days. I love it.
What a difference in eating habits, huh?
My big downfall was salty snacks. Especially baked cheetos. Also fritos scoops and cheese dip usually accompanied by a 2 liter diet coke. I still buy the cheese dip ocasionally but now I use it as a sauce over diced chicken breast.
My last meal was a 2 pound sirloin steak and a big baked potato. An inconceveable amount of food now.
I've tried to eat steak only once since then and I ended up getting sick. Now I pretty much just stick to chicken. But on the good side my cholesterol checked at 125 at my one year, a big improvement over the 230 it used to be.

I didn't have a last meal. I had a last week of meals. Before I started the liquid diet (about 7 to 10 days before surgery) I spent a week eating what ever, where ever, and when ever I could. Both for volume and for flavor. I wanted it, I got it. So, my family remember some of my last meals, for me it is a blended together food haze.

I'm with Lisa-
Sugar, sugar, sugar.
I would eat a relatively healthy meal(big portion) and then rationalize, OK I can have a flourless chocolate cake with rich ice cream and fudge (and eat the whole darn thing).
I can't remember my last meal-- Honestly-- I don't know what it was. I do know that the week before surgery, I had desert after every meal (lunch and dinner).
I still have some issues with sugar (as you all know from my posts) but I can keep it in check a bit more.
Marge is an incredible cook who uses the art of cooking as therapy. I had a month of last meals and over indulged on most!
Now, Marge still cooks, except in a more healthy vein. I eat very small portions. Most things stay down.
I used to enjoy good red wine, but now I find it nauseates me. I can still drink my Irish whiskey: it makes me frisky. Beer is fine and I drink 2-3 bottles of good stuff weekly.
Desert has become less sugary but more sweetly physical.
