July 18th, 2005 - Happy Anniversary to me!
Well I guess most of you 1year anniversary people know by now that people other than us really don't care about the anniversary date. Nobody cared or remembered or gave me anything or asked about my anniversary. So therefore I just went on through the day as if it were any other day. Anyway. I would like to know how everyone else did by the end of the one year:
Stats:
7/18/2005 - Starting weight 387 - Anniversary weight 199
Hi Bobbi,
Happy surgiversay to you!! You are doing great and your weighloss is amazing!! Congrats on making it to Onederland just in time for your anniversary. I will celebrate mine next week on the 26th! But here are my stats so far:
Surgery:7/26/05
Starting Weight 259
Current Weight 153
total loss: 106 lbs
Pounds till goal: 28 lbs
When something is important to me, I let people know it. Sometimes subtly (putting it on the family calendar), sometimes bluntly, "It is the anniversary of my surgery, look how great I'm doing". I've discovered that waiting for others to notice what I want them to only leads to me being upset that it wasn't a big deal to them.
Now, onto you:
Happy anniversary to you! You are doing absolutely great!
My starting weight was 320 and anniversary weight was 193.

Hi Bobbi!
First of all....your stats are incredible! Pat yourself on the back girl!
This had definately been a journey I have taken by myself (as far as my fam and friends are concerned). My husband was passively supportive. As in..."Whatever you want to do is fine dear", but was never my cheerleader. My sister was my cheerleader until I became smaller than her, then she didn't really want to hear about it anymore. My parents were supportive, but only after they had decided that the surgery was detrimental to my health. They weren't really comfortable wtih the risk I was taking. I think my mom is still waiting for me to have a complication so she can say, "Told ya so".
I was lucky though.....I was able to spend my one year with the ones that helped me the most and were my biggest support through all of this....The July board. I was in Vegas with my dear new friends on that beautiful day.
