Since you have lost the weight (or in the process) do you find it takes you longer to get ready and you like making yourself gorgeous. I do, I never use to get my hair and nails done and my cloths are always nice and fit right. It was hard finding cloths when I was a size 28 but now that I can go into any store and buy something I want the nice stuff. I don't leave the house without makeup and my hair done, and before the surgery I never wore makeup and hair well lets just say it was there and graying fast. I'm going to get my hair done this Thursday and I by the time they are done it will be close to $180. and then I'm getting my nails done $45. and who knows I might have to stop for a coffee $3.65. I'm expensive now! Tammy

LOL!!! Oh yeah! But..... I've also found that I'm not as self-concious about just running out to the grocery first thing in the morning without all my stuff on. I used to would NEVER leave the house without looking as good as I could, but now, I'll just run out anywhere without make-up even because I don't feel like everyone is staring at the gross fat lady. I just blend in now! I've kinda hit the tips of both ways I guess. Enjoy your new you -- it's gonna be a GREAT 2nd year! HUGS K

Kimberly, I think I am just like you. When going to work or to see friends and family, I also want to have hair, makeup and clothes looking best, but I also have no problems running a brush through my hair throwing on some jeans, and running errands. Before when I was so heavy, I thought I had to look the best I could before I would go out in public for anything. And I am looking forward to year two for us also! I want to finish the race.

I was high maintenance before, I'm a better looking high maintenance now. The difference is the little things. Now I moisturize my feet (I can reach the bottoms of 'em without cutting off my airway), and my legs, and my arms. I use face cream more regularly. And I do like my clothes to fit and I don't wear them oversized (I'm afraid of sliding backward and not noticing). I am making more effort now. However, makeup? Nope, hardly ever. I don't go that far. -Pam

Hi Tammy, You say you're expensive now, but I figure, I can't eat much and I'm only good for one drink these days, so it all evens out !! I definitely am more vain now. I can't walk past my reflection without looking these days, and while I have my hair and makeup down to a science (only takes me a half hour to get ready), I'm definitely more selective when I'm shopping now - because I don't have to settle - I can just go somewhere else if I don't find anything just right in one store. OH, and another big one for me is, I iron all my clothes now, where before, I didn't care. These surgeons are creating a bunch of monsters! LOL

OMG TAMMY..............you are such a pre-Madonna!!!! JK!!!! At the risk of sounding like a total snob, but realizing that it never stopped me before.......... The answer is clear....yes and no! I have a job that requires me to look my best most of the time. So....as far as work goes....no difference in the amount of effort required. Here's the difference.....I dress up for my personal time now which I didn't before. I was a total slob on my days off. I'd walk around in my painting clothes or old ratty shirts with holes in them that were long meant for the trash can! Here's another difference (the snob part).........It takes less time and effort for me to look good. My skin is in much better shape than it was. I can go without makeup and people will still compliment me on my appearance. My hair....little maintanance required......It's naturally straight and healthy. Pig tails and a little bit of make-up take less than 5 minutes and go a looooong way. I DO get pedicures more often than I did before. I never wanted to wear anything that would show off my chubby legs and to get a pedi, you have to expose the legs. I also have been hittin the tanning booth a lot lately. In my natural state, I'm whiter that white on rice.........so weeks and weeks under the lights has given me an ever-so-slight tan. I'm still pretty white though! I save sooo much money on clothes now though. It's tons cheaper to be a size 9/10 than it was to be a size 24-28. Soooo I guess it all evens out! That was the shortened/edited version! Ha! Malibu
