Okay guys..... Here we sit......almost a year out. Have you been successful? My Dr. said that anything over an 85% excess body weight loss is considered a success. Figure out your percentage lost: First take your starting weight and subtract your current weight. Then take your starting weight and subtract your goal weight. Take the first number and divide by the second number. Multiply that result by 100. I'm at 90%. Holy Hell! How about you?

Well I thought I was successfull until I did this darn calculation.. Thanks a lot Channon! Just kidding.. I have lost 77% of my excess body weight but I also have a very low goal weight (125lbs).. but I am only 5 feet tall so really this is at the high end of my normal range... Well, we will see where my body stops.. I would definatly like to lose another 20lbs but heck if I stoped now I would still consider my weightloss a success!! Thanks for the formula C! Shannan

Shannan, Don't be discouraged. I'm sorry. That wasn't my intent with this post. My goal is set for a much higher weight! 155! That's why my number is higher. Even at 155, I'm assuming that I'll have 10 lbs of extra skin. My chart says I should weigh 147 to be normal, but I know that I'm actually "thinner" now, but with extra skin than I was the last time I weighed 155. Make sense? I'm wearing the sizes I wore when I was in the 150's. I'm still 170! It doesn't make any sense to me, but it is what it is, I guess! C

Hi Channan.. No worries at all.. I was really just goshing with you.. If I measured my success by a number I would be in trouble.. Instead I measure success by how many guys check out my ass!! Kidding again (happily married.... I totally get what you are saying about the sizes thing. I truley feel thin every morning when i spring out of bed and decide what to wear based on my mood rather than what will fit anymore as I did just 11 short months ago. Thanks for posting and just being you!! Shannan

I am not really sure what my goal weight is. My first goal has already been reached, (but my PCP said it was too high and set my goal lower). According to thinnerself.com-- my goal is still a bit away. If I go by their guidelines I am at 86%. If I go by the "medical idea weight" I am at 79% Now I am just confused.

A math problem! I love math! Lets see how I stack up. 430 - 211 = 219 430 - 185 = 245 219 / 245 = 89.38% WHEEE!!!
