More bad news.
Today is my 10 month anniversary. Another month with absolutely no weightloss. I think that's 3 months with nothing lost. If you thought you had it bad with a stall/plateau, look at me. Hah.
At any rate, today I fell down some stairs and dislocated my shoulder, so I drove myself to the emergency room. They took some x-rays, popped it back in place, and told me that I also may have torn my rotator cuff and to follow up with my orthopedic doctor. I am completely unable to move my right arm/shoulder at all. Immobility sucks. And I'm in a lot of pain.
I ended up not going to run my marathon this past weekend. Decided it was best to not do it. I'm still planning on doing my triathlon in September with Team in Training and the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society (and yes I still need donations - see the top of my profile for a link if you wish).
Eh, and I've been eating so bad lately. And I can eat so much. I can eat an entire 6 inch sub from Subway in one sitting. I feel like a pig, and fat, and just unattractive in general, not to mention my male problem. I'm in such a funk and I'm depressed, and I'm back in this cycle of crying myself to sleep every night.
And I dont think I can go to Vegas anymore. Financial issues.
Ashley honey I wish I could just take away your pain. And leave you smiling and happy like in that picture of you. Honey, life is full of ups and downs. If not for the bad parts sometimes we all would not enjoy the wonderful things. It's the old story of dealing with the good and the bad of life. Look at things this way.. what dosen't kill you makes you stronger..lol! As far the eating goes.. yes, at this point we can all eat more. dosen't mean we have to eat the wrong foods or graze. We have something most people don't, a tool to use as we were taught. If we abuse it .. it will fail us. Use it well and you will see results.. why don't you try posting your daily foods on here and I'll join you if you like. It's a thought. Don't cry tonight honey.. It will ALL get better. .. promise..
peace
Mo
I know about that "eating bad lately" part, it is easy to slip into old habits -- especially when things aren't going well. We are so used to turning to food as the answer to our problems. But it isn't. Really.
Are you using FitDay to track your food and excercise? I find it helps reintroduce reality to my eating choices. I use it when I hold on to weight for a couple of weeks - reminds me what calories are and what percentage of my intake is carbs.
Most of us are losing more slowly, we're learning to use our surgeries as a 'tool'. For most of us the tool alone won't bring about all the changes we want.
If you are things to be a bummer, have you considered counseling? It won't be the miracle, but often it'll help you know why you make the choices you do, so you can decide to make different choices in the future if you want to.
The torn rotator cuff and dislocated shoulder - ouch. Not good. My sympathies.
Do take care of yourself, we care.

Beautiful and committed young woman:
Pam's suggestions are wise. You have come a long way in your short journey. And you've already run some great races. You be back running soon.
Look for the book, "Feeling Good" by Burns. It gives a number of great insights and exercises that really help in understanding the mechanisms of depression and how to regain your life.

BABE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ughhhh!!!
This all sucks.......hard!
Okay:
Unsolicited advice coming at you quickly.......duck!
Guy problems:
It seems that those of us who had weight problems in our young adult lives tend to be less experienced with the opposite sex. You are probably "behind" the curve a little bit with men. This will ALL change now! You will surely date your sassy little ass off....WELL, as soon as you are mobile again, that is! This is your FIRST post-op relationship, first college sweet heart, not to mention your first.....well.....lover! No wonder you have so much emotion wrapped up in him, but don't hang on to anything longer thanit is healthy to do so.
Physical problems:
You are young and will bounce back from these injuries quickly! In a few months....this will all be a memory. Just take the time to heal properly or you will re-injure yourself.
Eating problems:
"reintroduce realtiy"....I love that Pam!!!.......nuff said!
You are our "little sister" and we love you babe!
Mo and Pam are much, much older than you ! (me too) Take their sage advice to heart! It's really good stuff!
