I NEED YOUR PRAYERS

C I work in a lab. They will get her on Antibiotic therapy, IV etc and do many blood tests. Having her in hospital is the best thing so they can monitor her therapy. Modern technology and advances in medicine todayShe should be fine she is under doctors care. I will say a prayer! Pattiann

I am thinking of you and your family today and sending my hope, love and prayers your way for your niece to recover from whatever is ailing her. I also do not know much about spinal meningitis except that it can be very dangerous. If it turns out that it isn't SM I hope they are able to diagnose it in a timely manner so they can give her the medicine she needs. How old is McKenna? Please take care of yourself too while helping care for the rest of the family. Mandie

How scary! I'll be thinking of her and your family.

It really depends if it is bacterial or viral. My 3 year old (9mo old at the time he got it) and my husband had it at the same time in TX ( the viral form is similar to the West Nile Virus transmitted by misquitos). They both were in the hospital for 2 days, but although it was serious, they did not pose the threat of dying. My other son and my brother in law ended up catching it and when I called the Dr. they said there really wasnt much you could, other than treat the sympton and I just had to give him motrin and tylenol for the high fever. The bacterial form is much more aggressive and this is the form most people die of. It hits very hard. Hope this helps, Aly
