I NEED YOUR PRAYERS

I just got a call.......My Niece, McKenna, was rushed to the hospital with an advanced case of spinal meningitis (sp?). Appearently this is very serious! I know nothing about this illness, disease, condition or whatever the hell it is. Any info, links, etc. would be welcome. Plaese remember her in your prayers. Okay....I'm off to the hospital. Thanks guys! C

I don't know anything about spinal meningitis but I do know it is serious. My prayers are are with your family especially McKenna. Keep positive thoughts! Let us know how she is doing. She has an for an aunt!

Thanks everyone! I brought the rest of their children home tonight to get some rest so I am home now, but my mind is else where. Right now, they have moved her to th PICU and are trying to prevent her from either having a stroke or developing brain damage. Her platelets (sp?) are low and her blood will not clot so they cannot do a spinal tap yet. When they can...it will reveal much more info. It is still possible that she doesn't have spinal meningitis. We just don't know yet! (((((((( McKenna )))))))) She is only 6 years old. C

Oh Channan, as the mother of an almost 6 year old this scares me to death! I know that there is viral meningitis and bacterial meningitis, one is serious, one is not- but I'm not sure which is which. When my older daughter was 16 she was rushed to the hospital, and we thought she had this, and she got a spinal tap, turns out she didn't have it, she had Mono. But anyway, I am hoping (I'm sorry I'm not the praying kind) that things turn around super quickly and this little angel is healed. My thoughts are with you and the family, and especially that darling little girl. Please let us know of any developments. Thinking of you! Michele
