I think I decided to go on a fast. Only having three protein drinks a day (for my 60 gms) and then only drinking water. I have been sitting in the 188-190lbs for what seems like a month and I am getting very depressed. What do you all think? I plan on drinking alot of water and of coarse taking all my vitamins. Channan I also want to thank you at this time for keeping this board going. You keep me laughing all the time. Please never stop posting, we would all be lost without you. I wished you were my neighbor, it seems that we have an awful lot in common. (especially decorating, spending lots of money on your self, jewelry, nails, high heels etc.) Please tell me what to do! Love you all!

Katie- I don't think going on a fast is a good idea. You should consult with your doctor or nutritionist before you try anything like that. Three protien drinks a day is not nearly enough calories. Your body will go into starvation mode and you will not get the desired results. I would up my protien and increase my exercise if it were me. Have you ever considered lifting some weights? Gets the whole body going and really increases lean muscle which boost the metabolism. Not to mention tones the muscles and makes you look and feel great! I consider it a real key to the success I've had. Drinking lots of water IS good tho. I don't drink enough myself, but I'm trying to improve on it. Good luck Tim

Katie, What you are describing isn't really a fast. A true fast is completely going without food or water and if fact WOULD be unsafe/unhealthy. I know what you're thinking though.......shock your system into losing, right? It's not a bad idea......just do it for 2 or 3 days. We all survived it in the beginning for WEEKS without repercussion so I don't think it would hurt one bit to do it for a couple of days. You DID say drinking lots of water and taking your vitamins.....those are very important. One thing though...... consuming a lot of protein drinks can "plug you up" big time! Thanks for the kind words.......I could use a neighbor like you as well. It's funny how I lost a bunch of weight and now all my neighbors are on Weigh****chers. Let me suggest one more thing........try eating "regular" food and track it really closely! Stay between 800-1000 calories and I bet you'll start to drop in no time. I snack on Zone bars, cheese and rotisserie chicken. These are the Holy Trinity for me....I have them around all the time. They are very filling and full of protein. Just a thought! Good luck babe! C

My doctor actually told me that if you are on a platau, go back onto the liquid diet for 2x a wee****il your weightloss starts up again. Me ... I'm hungry all the time so have a hard time doing that ... damnit!! I don't think you should be going without any food for longer than 2-3 days. You need the calories and your body will go into starvation mode and as soon as you go back to eating normally ... it will hold on to every calorie and you will probably gain or have another platau! I asked my nut about this a few mts back when I was having some "issues". She said go ahead and do it. If your doing it to get back on track it's not a bad idea, if your doing it to "punish yourself" for not doing the right things then NOT such a good idea. I ended up not doing it. I seriously don't know if I'd have made it. I love food to much. Becky 288/175/160 -113 15 pds to goal!
