Topic: HCG really works... down 9.2 lbs in 4 days
Feels like the honeymoon phase of RNY is back.  Check out a few items from my journal:

Thursday, January 12, 2012 : 271.8 Day 1 of HCG. Loading phase. First shot at 8:10 pm. Mixing was interesting, concerned whether or not I put enough water in it. The shot was painless. Today I will eat lots of fats and shop for organic meats, veges and melba toast. Friday, January 13, 2012: 270.2 (-1.6) Day 2, still loading. In spite of eating pizza, sausage, bacon and nuts, I’m down 1.6. Bought cabbage, onions, apples and a grapefruit yesterday. Need to buy organic meats today. This is going to be an expensive endeavor. Just hope it’s worth it. Got a cortisone shot in the knee yesterday. Was worried that it might affect the HCG. So far so good. I’m sure the HCG is not a placebo. After taking the shot yesterday, I could literally taste the medicine in my mouth. Saturday, January 14, 2012: 269.4 (-0.8) – Total: -2.4 Day 3, official diet starts. Woke up early and felt hungry. Did a little water loading. Here we go…. Sunday, January 15, 2012: 265.8 (-3.6) – Total: -6 Day 4, I am amazed. I have lost 6 lbs in three days. Getting all the water in yesterday was hard. My stomach didn’t seem to like the grapefruit all that much. May switch to oranges, not a big fan of strawberries the only other choice.  Monday, January 16, 2012: 262.6 (-3.2) – Total: -9.2 Day 5, yesterday was hard, but I stuck to it. I have lost 9.2 lbs in four days. Drank a lot of green tea to fight off head hunger. I can feel the difference in clothes.

This stuff works!  I'm down 6 pounds in 3 days.  It's a 500 calorie a day diet for 29 days.
Pre-diet for two days you fat load... eat absolutely anything you want, especially fatty foods like nuts, oils, pizza, cheese, etc.

With the pouch, it's easy to do.  Feels like the honeymoon phase again.

Menu for 29 days:

Breakfast:   Fruit, Coffee
Snack:  Melba Toast
Lunch:  3 oz lean organic protein, 3 oz vegetable
Snack: Fruit
Dinner: 3 oz lean oragnic protein, 3 oze vegetable
Snack: Melba Toast
80 ounces of water

One major rule, , you cannot have the same fruit, protein or vegetable twice in one day.  I take an HCG shot per day for 28 days.  It's painless.  I order it from pharmacy in the U.S. tied to a licensed doctor in Florida.  After the 29 day low calorie diet.  You do 3 weeks of potein first along with vegetables (sound familiar)! Use of spices is permitted, but no oil; splenda or stevia ok too.  No body lotions, baby oil or mineral oil allowed.

Praying for you today.  You'll get your honeymoon phase back with your revision.

Hugs!

Hi there!  What is hcg?   I never heard of it.  Do you take injections?  What is the premise behind it?  Good luck with it!

Topic: HCG after RNY... I'm doing it!
I'm doing 28 days of the controversial HCG diet.  I'm starting day 1 on the hcg diet to today.  I bought the product from TrimNutrition.com.  They have a pharmacy in Florida and it's tied to a licensed doctor.  It cost a little more, but my comfort level for product purchased on line and out of the country was not there.  I bought the shots.  I think it will be my second chance at the honeymoon phase of RNY where I could only get in 500 calories a day.  I had RNY in 2004 and lost 110 and managed to gain back 50.  The weight gain was 100 percent not following the rules.  I went back to sugar (even though it makes me tired), I went back to processed and fast foods.  My hope is to only do one round of hcg to jumpstart me back to using my pouch correctly.  A year ago I had my inners xrayed to find that my pouch is still small.  The maintenance after hcg is no sugar, white starches, processed or fast foods, sounds familiar doesn it.  Wish me luck!

Hi everyone!  Doesn't look like to many of my July babies around anymore.  I wonder how you're all doing.

Here's what's going on with me.   lost about 120 lbs (from about 280 to 160).  I leveled off around 175 and stayed there for a about 5-6 years.  Then I started gaining weight and felt like I could eat a lot and I could eat anything.  I went from 175 to about 200 lbs. about a year and a half ago.  I joined Weigh****chers and lost 40 lbs, then, of course, gained it all back and then some.  I'm about 225 now and petrified.

Long story short, I finally went to a bariatric surgeon (my original surgeon moved out of state and out of network) and he found that my opening into the intestine tube had closed up and I now had a good sized fistula going directly into the stomach (evidently it was stapled but never cut), so in essence, I had a 'normal' anatomy.

I am going next week (Jan 18) for a repair - to enlarge the opening into the bypass and close the fistula.  He's hoping to do it laprascopically, but that depends on scar tissue.  I sure hope he doesn't have to open me up again.

So, anyone else have this particular problem?  Any suggestions?  Hopefully some good wishes - starting to get a little nervous....

Wow, can you believe it has been 7 years? Hope everyone is well and still on a positive journey! I have my days, but overall I am doing OK. I am maintaining.  My lowest was 188 and i am currently at 198.  My highest before WLS was 319 so I am good.  Nonetheless, I have to work at even maintaining, I am attempting to get to 175, but if I do not gain, I think I will be content.

Hope all is better Pamela...hang in there. I have the 40lbs weight gain issue too..and feel like I didn't even have the surgery...I can eat whatever, drink whatever. I know I am not exercising and eating properly which is what got me here in the first place. Remember to go back to basics...this was only a tool to get you there quicker...You have to maintain the tune-up! Hugs!! Nadine
