Topic: Goal for today - Wednesday 7/9
Hi all,
Even though there aren't a lot of people checking in, I'm going to use this forum to post my meal plan every day. I read on Yahoo news yesterday that journaling your food is one of the most effective ways to lose weight and keep it off.
Today the plan is:
B: McCanns Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, tomato juice, coffee
S: string cheese
L: tossed salad with shrimp or salmon
S: lite jarlesberg cheese and a kiwi
D: Omelet made with like shredded Mexican cheese and topped with salsa, 2 slices of turkey bacon and asparagus on the side
Dessert: ricotta cheese with splenda and 1 T natural peanut butter
Hope you are all having a great day!!
Hugs,
Nancy

My 4 yr anniversary is tomorrow! Wish I was more excited about it, but I've gained 50 lbs!
Today is Day 2 of my 5 Day Pouch Test. It has been going well. I've fought headaches pretty bad, but it hasn't been too bad. I just want to use my tool again!!
Nancy - Hope your day went well!!

Wow, I have to say I'm kind of surprised that we haven't seen more July babies popping in to say hi and Happy Anniversary. I'm kind of bummed about it. Well, it's early in the month so hopefully we'll see a few before month end.
Still hanging in there and feeling good. Here's today's menu:
B: Eggbeaters with lf cheese and 1 slice turkey bacon, tomato juice, coffee
S: cucumber with lite Laughing Cow garlic cheese
L: tossed salad with leftover 1/2 sirloin burger and asparagus
S: lite Jarlesberg cheese and 1/2 apple
D: Salmon, zucchini, asparagus
S: ricotta with splenda and vanilla, walnuts
Hope everyone has a great day!!
Hugs,
Nancy

Topic: RE: Upcoming my 4 Year Anniversary of WLS...and not so good
One of the reasons that WW might not work is that you can eat anything as long as you stay within your point limit. I tried WW too and ended up eating cookies and ice cream and not the foods I should be eating. It was all 'legal', I stayed within my point limits, but it was not healthy.
If you stick to a high protein and veggie diet, you are eating foods which stay with you longer. I bet if you ate solid white tuna from the can - no mayo - just the fish, you would feel your pouch working. If I eat something like that I can get in maybe 1/2 of the can and that's it. Try not to eat foods that slide in and out of your pouch.
Please check in and let us know how you're doing.
Hugs,
Nancy

Nancy-
Definitely good to be planning every thing you eat!
I am on Day 1 of the "5 Day Pouch Test" that you recommended I do. It's only 10:30 but I do feel pretty good so far.
I tried SBD about a year after my surgery cause I wanted to lose more, and it worked well for weight loss but I had such a hard time during Phase 1, that I never made it in to Phase 2.
Hope all goes well today!

Thanks to both Nancy and Denise for your words of encouragement. I am sooo relieved that I am not the only one going through this!!!
Today is Day 1 of the 5 day Pouch Test. I do exactly that, I graze all day long and NEVER feel satisfied! If I can just get my Pouch working right, then I can get this weight OFF!! I would love to be using my tool again, since I went through so much to get it!
As far as emotional eating goes....at Weigh****chers my leader told us once, that before we eat we need to HALT...We need to think am I eating because I am:
Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired
We should only be eating when we are hungry, of course!
Weigh****chers has been great but I have only lost 7 lbs in 6 weeks. I know, better than nothing but I'd love to see more gone. I sometimes wonder if I am eating too much or something on WW. Maybe my pouch can't handle what WW requirements are.
Well I will check back and let you know how the 5 day test works. What I want to know is: What if the test doesn't work? What if I really have stretched my pouch out?
Anyone know?

Hi all -
Denise, I hope you have a great trip - do your best to stick to protein and veggies and just try and watch the sugars and white carbs - you'll do fine.
I got a new little dog on Friday and we did three 40 minute walks yesterday and another one this morning, so I'm definitely getting my exercise in!!
Here's the gameplan for today:
B: 2 eggs fried in PAM, 1 sl. turkey bacon - tomato juice - coffee
S: light Jarlesberg cheese, 1/2 apple
L: tossed salad with tuna salad
S: zucchini slices with lite Laughing Cow cheese
D: SBD meatloaf and asparagus, broccoli
S: SF jello with LF Greek yogurt
Hugs,
Nancy

Hey Nancy!
You are doing so well.... I'm so proud of you. The weekend was great, although I fell into a few carbs... macaroni and cheese, which is a slider food. I had no problem eating it. Next week I'm headed to Indianapolis to visit a good friend from Alaska. My gameplan is to focus on protein. If I have to eat out, I'll eat things like omelettes and chicken ceasar salad. I plan to walk a lot next week.
I'll check in on Monday, but will be out of pocket for a few days.
Please keep up the good work. Concentrate on getting your protein in and vitamins.
We will do this... Heck, you are doing this... Go girl...
When I get back from Indianapolis, I'm hopping on the South Beach train... you've inspired me.
Hugs!
Denise

I know this is going to sound weird, but my goal for today is to REMEMBER TO EAT! Can you believe it??? I have gotten so out of the habit of obsessing with food, that I sometimes forget to eat until I realize its 4 PM and I haven't had lunch yet. I gotta tell ya, I never thought I would be putting those four words together (I'm forgetting to eat). LOL!
Here's the plan for the day:
B: eggbeaters with 1 sl turkey bacon, tomato juice, coffee
S: lite Jarlesberg cheese with a small plum
L: tossed salad with tuna salad
S: 20 pistachio nuts
D: more of that yummy chili I made last night with some FF sour cream
Dessert: Part skim ricotta cheese, splenda and vanilla
Hope you are all hanging in there and enjoying your weekends!
Hugs,
Nancy

Hey Nancy!
What a great menu plan! I like the variety. I'm going to join you in a few days on the SB plan. So stayed tuned for me asking for recipes. My favorite on the SB is a meatcrust pizza.
I'm still on the protein train, plan to stick to it through next week.
Have a wonderful holiday, my friend!
Hugs!
