Hi Denise, I enjoy reading your plans every day, though I'm more of a lurker. Today I had...... Breakfast 2 eggs w/ cheese snack protein shake w/ packet of sugar free cocoa. Lunch 2 chicken tenderloins 2 Tbls pizza sauce 1 string cheese 4 slices pepperoni ( tastes just like pizza! no crust) all baked together Snack 1/2 cup cottage cheese w lettuce & tomato Dinner same as lunch Totals calories 1066 fat 53 carbs 35 protein 112 I notice you eat talapia quite a bit. I was just wondering if you could tell me what it taste's like. Is it a "'fishy" type of fish? I absolutely hate seafood, but my mother in law said I might like talapia.I do like cod, because it is a mild fish, not overpowering like some. Thanks for any information. Denise! That is such an important thing! It's so second nature to me, that I don't even realize it. I ALWAYS have something that I'm sipping on.... And I don't do a lot of grazing. I had someone remark that constant sipping could be the same things as grazing... Constant hand to the mouth... I really don't care. I know I have an oral fixation. If sipping is an acceptable way to keep the "demon" or bratty girl in check - so be it! It works for me... Try it for a few days and see if it helps you as much as it helps me. OOOOH!!! I just thought of another thing. I also use chewable vitamins, chewabe calcium and chewable iron. I think of them as snacks. I know you're gonna have a hard time believing this - but just eating all those vitamins gives me some 'chewing satisfaction' and cuts down on the "hunt for the chew". Irene

Topic: More to lose... Sunday (3/25/06)
Good evening (morning)! I decided to post my Sunday plan on Saturday evening. Saturday was pretty good. I made an obvious discovery. If I sip on Crystal lite all day, I don't snack. In essence, I kept a beverage in my hand or close by all day and ate 3 meals and that was it. Let's see if I can repeat myself on Sunday. I didn't exercise at all on Saturday. I seemed to have hurt my lower back on Friday or maybe it's delayed reaction from my Disney marathon. Anyway... here's Sunday's plan: Breakfast: Turkey sausage Deli ham Scrambled egg Cheese Lunch: Tilapia Applesauce Dinner: Ground turkey Mixed vegetables Nutrition: 1058 Calories 50 Fat 88 Carbs 53 Protein Exercise: 25 minutes pilates 1 hr walking Have a great day! Topic: RE: Hey July Babies!--Just checking in...
Hi Jeff! I was wondering how you've been! I'm glad you checked in. If you're building muscle, you won't necessarily show a weight loss. Muscle weighs more than fat. The really great thing about building muscle is that takes more calories to maintain muscle than fat. I know what you mean about the PS. I'm trying to get perhaps a few more pounds off and/or just stabilize for 6 months so I can have PS. No idea where the $$$$$$ for ps will come from. I might have to win the lottery for that. I found a protein bar the has 30 grams of protein. Tastes pretty good for a protein bar too... But I really don't eat them regularly, since I prefer to have the "eating satisfaction" that I get from regular food. But for the times when I just can't seem to get in a good amount of protein... they're just the ticket! They're called Everlast Nutrition energy bars. Zero sugar, 30 grams protein, Low carb - 2g net impact carbs, 250 cals. Now that you're back, DON'T be a stranger, Jeff! Irene 330/151.5/145?

Hi Mary!! I did my usual on Friday.... 1 hr water aerobics. I'm not sur about Saturday. My back is hurting from some reason, so I may lay off this weekend. Thanks for being a consistent trooper for us. You really inspire me to keep going when I want to quit. This morning I had thoughts of just giving up. Maintain 220 and forget about it. Then I thought about you and thought. It can be done. Thanks for be a blessing to us all. Hope you're having a great weekend... Denise you, Mary!

Thanks, Irene!!! I know you're right. It was also a mistake for me to buy a scale. I'm obssessed!!! I need to go back to weighing once a week. I'm driving myself crazy. I must weight 4 times a day!!! I think I'm playing the same games I played before surgery. You know, you eat unhealthy stuff and see if shows u*****t. As long as I'm following plan, the rest will fall in place, which is why once per week weighing should be sufficient!!! Hope you're having a great weekend... Denise

Topic: Weekend Warriors
Are you a weekend warrior? That is, a person whose exercise activities usually take place only on Saturday and Sunday. During the weekdays you just can't seem to find the time to exercise because you are too busy being involved with your job, or the demands of taking care of your family, or some other more important commitment. That leaves just the weekend for you to do some jogging, bicycle riding, or playing some golf or tennis. If you are a weekend warrior, you should ask yourself two questions. The first one is, are you really too busy to find an hour, or even less, each weekday to do some type of exercise? Why can't you get up an hour earlier, although that may mean going to bed earlier, which isn't such a bad idea? Review your daily schedule and eliminate some of the activities that really aren't that important so you can find time to do something that will benefit your health. Here's another questions to contemplate. Are there any health benefits if you do exercise only during the weekends? Most health organizations recommend exercising at least five days a week for 30 minutes or more. A recent study looked into the health benefits of just exercising during the weekends. The results of the study showed that men who did not have any high health risk factors such as high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, and high cholesterol, did receive some benefit from being a weekend warrior. They had a lower mortality rate than those who were sedentary and did not participate in any physical activities. However, just exercising during the weekend was not helpful in lowering the mortality rate of people who were in the high risk group. For those individuals more than just weekend exercise was needed in order to improve their mortality rate. To summarize the findings of the study, the more you exercise, the longer you will live. And that takes us back to the first question, why can't you find more time during the week to exercise? Is it really that difficult to rearrange your busy weekday schedule in order to do something that will help you live longer? So what have you done today? Have a great weekend!!! Thank you for the compliment. I do volunteer work as a bariatric ambassador - I speak at community lectures, support groups, symposiums and I visit the patients in the hospital after their surgery. It is my way of giving to others for the blessings I have received by having this surgery. I share what works for me in hopes others can glean something that might work for them. Here by the grace of God go I... Mary
