Topic: More to lose... Saturday (4/1/06)
Good morning!!!! Well it's April!!! Since we started this train back in December, I am down 12 lbs!!! That's 3 lbs per month. Rather slow considering how fast it fell off in the beginning, but I'll take it!!! I'm setting a new goal for myself of 5 lbs per month. I know I can do this if I focus on protein, fluid intake and exercise. I have exactly 24 days to get into the dress I bought for a gala I am attending in Detroit. The picture on my profile is from the gala last year. I'm probably 16 lbs lighter than that picture, but I'd love to be even more. So, I'm hopping on the protein train for the next ten days. I hope I have the discipline to do it. I am also going to try and exercise 3 times a day for the next 10 days. I find it helps if I post more than once per day. So, bear with me while I get chatty again. I've got to get into this little black dress and knock 'em dead!! Here's today's plan: Breakfast: Tilapia Snack: Sugar free popsicle Lunch: Crabcake Snack: Sugar free popsicle Dinner: Steak Snack: Sugar free popsicle Nutrition: 823 Calories 20 Fat 16 Carbs 106 Protein Exercise 25 minutes Pilates! DONE 2 hr walking Have a great day!! Denise 326/220/170 -106 50 lbs to Drs goal 5 lbs to "mini mini" goal of 215 by April 24

Topic: RE: Help! I can eat alot!
Hi Renee' I know how you feel. I can eat a lot... Depending on the food I can really indulge if I let myself. Early on it was the pouch that helped with food restriction. More and more, it's discipline (which I'm not very strong in, but working on it!). Most studies indicate that WLS folks gain 10-20 lbs back. Mostly due to relaxed discipline. I read of one member on another board gaining back 90 lbs! Americans in general gain 6 lbs per year. It's weight creep. We get comfortable and lax on the routine. The key is getting back to routine, which is not easy. Go back to basics, you can do it! You may fall off from time to time, but as long as you get back on board quickly you'll maintain. You may even lose some. While I want to lose more, I more concerned about maintaining what I've lost. Hang in there.... Okay, gang, I need your help. At work, we're having a weight loss competition. The person who loses the most weight based on percentages wins ALL the money that it costs to compete. As it stands, we're looking at about $400. I want to win, and I want your help so that I can stay on the straight and narrow. I will post a short personal log every day (if I can) for the next six weeks. You guys can criticize, advise, or throw out words of support. I just REALLY need people to hold me accountable...I admit that I can't do this alone! Starting tomorrow. Thanks! Pamela 352/220/150 contest weigh-in: 225

Good afternoon Ladies!! Teah... great job on sticking to plan yesterday. I wish I had such good news. My brain has left the building and so has my discipline in sticking to plan. Yesterday I overdosed on Snackwells... I hear my doctor sitting on my shoulder saying leave all snacks alone. No snacking... He knows me... I have no control!!! When I eat out with folks who don't know I've had surgery, I haven't had a problem. I tend to eat very slowly and by the time they've gulfed down their meals, it's not an issue. Folks are just ready to go. We'll here's my menu (it's not a plan, 'cause it's awful and I've already consumed most of it!)!!! Breakfast: Hardees Cinnamon Biscuit Coffee Lunch: Oatnut Bread Peanutbutter Dinner: Crabcakes Snacks: Sugar free popsicles Nutrition: Calories: 1369!!!! UGH!! Fat 66 Carbs 100!!! UGH!!! Protein 67 Exercise 25 minutes Pilates 1 hr walking Well... I'm going to act like Scarlet Ohara... tomorrow is another day!!! I'll be online this weekend. I'm going to need support to get my bottom back on track. Have a great day!! Denise 326/220/170 -106 50 lbs to Drs. goal 20 lbs to mini goal of 200 by July 6!

Hi Mary! I did the usual morning WATP WalkBlaster - I never seem to get tired of that. I add arms and do it double time and it's a nice way to start the day. I'd love to go for a walk this afternoon, but my boss is here today and she doesn't like it when I leave my desk..... I'll do the Walk and Kick video this evening.... Hi Teah! Congrats on making the healthy choice. It is kind of disgusting to see what we can actually shove down our throats...UGH. I don't go out to eat that often, but I generally order something like fish or grilled chicken and eat a comfortable amount. I always get a doggie bag - most people don't ask, and if they mention I only ate a small amount, I say I drank a bottle of water, so I'll fini**** up later. I've been doing really well and guess what, I lost another pound! When I weighed this morning I was 166! I was so surprised! I have to be careful at work today. They brought in bagels and the works for breakfast (I didn't succumb), and they just brought in burritos with all the fixin's, Spanish Rice, salad, huge plates of cookies for lunch. My boss asked me to make her a plate, so I did and just got a small salad for myself. So far so good, although those cookies are calling to me.... Here's my plan for today: B: Isopure Zero Carb protein drink L: small salad and lemonade with Unjury S: pretzels D: Tilapia lightly breaded with Carb Careful breadcrumbs, a couple of tablespoons of spaghetti sauce and a bit of shredded mozzarella, small green salad S: Light n Fit yogurt with some WW cereal mixed in Totals: (anyone go on fitday.com today? It's totally revamped! ) Calories: 715 Carbs: 30 Calories: 92 Did my usual WATP WalkBlaster this morning. I'd really love to get out for a walk this afternoon, but I don't know if my boss would be too thrilled. I also plan to do the WATP Walk and Kick tonight. Have a great weekend everyone - I'll be checking in! Hugs, Nancy 280/166/155 ~ mini goal: 162 by 5/1

Jeesh - how awful. I hope it's nothing more serious than some trapped gas. I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for letting us know Pamela. Hugs, Nancy
