I guess I never mentioned that my english muffins have no less than 7 grams of fiber and 5 grams of fiber. I choose either Thomas Light multigrain or Weigh****chers. The fat free cream cheese I choose has 4 grams of protein. For 120 calories, I have 11 grams of protein! If you haven't tried them, give them a whirl! Amazingly enough, I do really well with this for breakfast...been eating it for MONTHS now. I tend to have a snack around 10 am and lunch at noon. For me, carbs tend to keep me on an even keel much more than straight-up protein does. I tend to get fuller faster and stay fuller longer.

This is very sad that someone gained back 90 lbs. It's an indication of 1 of 2 things and conceivably could be a little of both: 1.) Surgical failure. The person's stoma enlarged to the point that food doesn't stay in the pouch and the person is constantly hungry. 2.) Someone with a really bad grazing habit could out-eat the surgery by eating small amounts all day long of the wrong kinds of food. There is a rebound weight gain that is "normal", but 90 lbs is NOT and is an indication of a physical or psychological problem. I hope they're getting the help they need. I'm sure the shame of failure must be so devastating to them.

I'd say you've done great for day 1! If you keep going like this I don't see how you can't win. My only question would be - is it possible to change to a more protein based breakfast? Something like cottage cheese with a small amount of fruit, for example. While it's less satisying to eat proteins, I find they don't stimulate the ravenous hunger and cravings for me that carbs do. Or do you feel that having some carbs keep you on track and prevent beserk eating? Anyhow, it's just a suggestion and even done exactly as written, it's a fantastic day!

Sounds like you're on your way, Pamela. Great idea to keep busy - I know it really cuts down on the boredom eating for me. Keep up the good work - you can do this!! Hugs, Nancy

Topic: More to Lose.....Sunday 4/2!
Hi Everyone - I'm having a busy Sunday, but wanted to take a minute to post here. I did well yesterday - did end up eating a bunch of popcorn last night, but it didn't affect my weigh in...yet! Here's my plan for today: B: Protein Drink L: Chicken breast (I bought one of those pre-roasted chickens, and kind of figure I'll eat some of that today) D: more chicken breast with a green garden salad and SF salad dressing S: carb fix pretzels, Unjury I haven't logged onto fitday.com today, so I'm not sure of the totals. I'll post again if I have a chance later. I did my WATP 2 mile high calorie burn this morning. I'm going to take the dogs for a walk later and do the WalkBlaster this eveining. Have a great day everyone!! Hugs, Nancy 280/165/155 ~ mini goal: 162 by 5/1

Okay, so my day 1 is nearly finished. How did I do? YOU be the judge! B~english muffin with ff cream cheese L~grilled chicken, broccoli salad, a bite of potato salad and pasta salad, baked beans D~grilled chicken and more baked beans S~haven't had a snack, but might get a sugar free ice cream from DQ Exercise: Nothing formal, but I spent three hours raking sweet gum balls from my backyard and then planted three bushes into my flower bed. Water: Not very good, especially considering that I spent most of the day working in the yard. I am completely wiped out, but I feel really good. My eating is on track, and I've outdone myself with physical activity. I will sleep great tonight! Pamela

Renee' - I agree with what Denise says. I know I have to be vigilant. I have promised myself that I will NEVER let myself get over 170 again...I don't care if I have to lock myself in a room...it ain't gonna happen. This has been too tough a struggle and I'm not going to throw away everything I've worked so hard for. Do I have my slips? You bet I do. But I'm finding that the duration is becoming less and less. I'm also finding that when I slip it's not really on bad foods, just too much. Why not join us on our More to Lose and Daily Exercise threads? Every day we post what we plan to eat for the day and what type of exercise we are doing. It's helped me IMMENSELY - I've lost 18 lbs since the beginning of the year. Hope you'll stick around, there's lots of support here! Hugs, Nancy 280/165/155 ~mini goal: 162 by 5/1

Hi Denise - I think protein is the key. I was negligent about getting my protein in and had been eating pretty carby. I didn't gain, but I didn't lose either. On Monday I started adding a couple of protein drinks to my diet and I've lost 3 lbs in 5 days!! I was so surprised this morning when I weighed 165! I can't believe it, but I'll sure take it!! LOL! Since I started on this train January 1, I've lost 18 lbs. It's been a struggle and I've had my ups and downs, but WOW, I feel great about myself and I feel great healthwise. Thanks Denise for being the motivator and for starting this train up!!! Weekends are sometimes tough for me, so I'm trying to keep busy. I just got back from running errands, and I'm going to go out and do some raking before it rains. Here's my plan for today: B: Isopure Zero Carb protein drink L: 10 medium shrimp and one Boca Burger S: Unjury in lemonade D: Tilapia lightly breaded with Carb Careful breadcrumbs, and a bit of spaghetti sauce and cheese, small green salad S: Carb fix pretzels Totals: Calories: 700 Carbs: 17 Protein: 105 I did the WATP 2 mile high energy for Abs with resistance belt this morning. I'm going out to rake for awhile, and I'll probably do the WATP WalkBlaster this evening. On the train to health and happiness!!! Hugs, Nancy 280/165/155 ~ mini goal: 162 by 5/1
