i thought about surgery at least 2 years before make a final decision to have it. i remember waking up in icu thinking to myself - what have i done? after that, i moved on and haven't regretted it since. all my labs are great, i've lost 91 lbs. even though you have the surgery and lose a weight, you still have to work at keeping if off. i guess i am blessed, i can eat just about anything in moderation and not get sick. that can be good and it can be bad! i enjoy buying clothes and i'm always receiving compliments on how good i look. i can walk with friends and i'm not the first one to poop out! this is a personal decision that you have to make and only you can make it! you need support from your family and friends. good luck!! sherry

Topic: Post ops-Are you happy with your decision?
HI all, I have been approved for RNY. I am scheduled May 23rd. Ahhhh..I can't believe I've come this far. For two years or more I have considered this or lapband. Finally, I am moving forward. Anyhow, I have done much research, read all the con's, but realized now I need to hear some positive or just some truth about how post ops feel at different stages. i.e 2 wk post op, 6 wk post op, 1 year, 2 years and more. So..please whoever would like to respond, I would most certainly appreciate it. DC Scheduled May 23, 2006 5'4" /234

Topic: RE: DOES IT HURT???
I've heard a mixed bag. Some said it's worse than the wls. Others said it was a breeze. I think it really depends on a couple of things. 1. the pain contol methods that the surgeon uses. 2. your pain threshold or tolerance. 3. MUSCLE work. If they have to repair a huge hernia or do extensive tightening of slack abdominals that seems to up the "ouch factor" significantly. Irene P.S. If you are really concerned about it, ASK the surgeon what he/she does for pain and tell them you are really worried or have low tolerence.

Does the T.T. surgery hurt as bad or worse than the WLS? Thanks, Renee'

Thanks, Denise. I already wear a different brand of this. I use Lipo in a Box which I purchase from QVC because they have a wonderful return policy whereas the Lipo in a Box is not returnable when ordered from their website. I only wear mine under work clothes. I can't imagine wearing this beastly thing during the summer... Oh man, I want plastic surgery BAAAAAD!!!! Will you be posting new pix of you in your outfit? I can't wait to see! I bet you'll look gorgeous! Irene

Teah, I'm so sorry to hear about the water in the basement. I've had the problem too, on occassion.... It really is no fun. Hang in there, and take care of yourself, so you can take care of everything else... Irene
