Good morning all! Happy Weekend! I'm gradually gaining back my appetite - didn't eat a whole lot yesterday - here's what I did: B: Isopure 0 Carb protein drink in Carb Coundown FF milk L: 1/2 Kashi Go Lean Chocolate Turtle bar (this was really good, very dense and hard to chew so it took me about 1/2 hour to eat 1/2 the bar!! That's great for me because sometimes I just need to chew) D: 1 med chicken breast made into chicken salad with 1 T of FF mayo and a t. of relish; a couple of strawberries and two small slices of apple Snack: Cookies n Cream Power Crunch bar Totals: Calories: 765 Carbs: 45 Protein: 91 Here's my plan for today: B: Isopure 0 Carb protein drink in Carb Coundown FF milk L: 1/2 Kashi Go Lean Chocolate Turtle bar D: Two (if I can get two down) Trader Joe's salmon patties with a bit of mayo; a cup of chopped cooked spinach Snacks: Power Crunch bar strawberries Totals: Calories: 795 Carbs: 45 Protein: 100 I hope to do a WATP tape at some point today. It's rainy and icky here in the northeast - supposed to be that way all weekend... Hugs to all, Nancy

Hi Karen! It's so nice to see you here! It sounds like you're doing well maintaining your weight. Hey, everyone's weight - WLS people or not - fluctuates. I think we probably all have to keep an eye on our glycemic levels. I find myself getting shaky sometimes too. I have one cup of coffee a day (down from about 10 pre-surgery!) and it's one of my treats. No bells and whistles, just a cup (usually ends up being 1/2 cup since it ends up getting cold and I toss it) with a bit of FF milk and a packet of Splenda. Maybe you should ask your doc if you can wean yourself off the coffee instead of quitting cold turkey - I think the headaches can come from stopping abruptly. Hope you'll check in more often - we miss ya!! Hugs, Nancy

All I'm saying is that I FEEL that this was a criticism of the people who are posting their plans for the day and what they ate the day before - of whom I am one. Honestly Stacy, what does it matter to you what people are doing to achieve their individual goals? Why knock people who are honestly trying? You continue to say you're not judging or criticizing, but people are TELLING YOU that they feel judged and criticized and you're not getting it. I consider myself highly successful in my weight loss journey - I've lost about 12 lbs. since I started doing the More to Lose posts, so that's working for me. You're talking down to me like I'm a child and I find it offensive. I'm not the only one you've upset Stacy, so perhaps YOU should take a look at YOURSELF instead of telling the people that you offended to take a look at themselves. Why is it that WE all have to look at ourselves and go to therapy and to your definition of support groups just because that's what you do? Complacency can be a very dangerous thing Stacy..... No one berates you because you don't journal or participate in the More to Lose thread. We understand that you get your strength elsewhere and we're happy for you. Once again I'll relate it to smoking. I don't know if you've been able to quit, but I do know you've struggled with it in the past. I was able to quit cold turkey on my first try after 30-odd years of nearly two packs a day (by the Grace of God). All I'm saying is that while I was able to do it, I wouldn't tell you that you shouldn't use a patch or nicotine gum, etc. You do whatever it takes to help you quit. Remember when you're pointing the finger there's three pointing back at you..... Perhaps it's time to lock this thread..... N.

You're right, you haven't posted in a long time! You really aren't on your way anymore, though. More like "almost there." So that's what the shakiness is called? Hypoglycemia? I sometimes get that, and when I do, I can't stop eating! It tends to happen when I don't eat enough carbs, so I don't quite understand it. I'll have to look into that, now that I know what the name for it is. I hope your revised plan helps bring you further success! Let us know how it goes, and don't be such a stranger! Cheers! Pamela

your acting like this was a direct attack on you nance and well if thats how you feel then maybe you should take a look at it..... just so you know it wasnt an attack on anyone...... and i know you can do it **** you gave up the other stuff...all im saying is think back when you were first contimplating surgery...... and how you would feel right now if you were back there.....you know a drink could kill you so why cant you use the same tool for the bad foods we eat??? thats all im saying not saying im better not judgeing just trying to understand thats all Stacy

let me rephrase this then if your happy being you then more power to you ....... i did not have this surgery to get skinny i had this surgery to get healthy being thinner is just a plus ... i had a lot of mental as well as physical issues before hand but i worked them out maybe thats why it worked.........im not apologizing for doing what i was told to do ....... just passing it on its not always easy for me either but i think back on why i had this surgery ...... no need to get so defensive it was not directed at you and if you feel it was then maybe you should look at that.... Well hello, I haven't posted in such a while but every 4 days or so I read everything and that keeps me going. I am bouncing the same 3 pounds for over a month and I go from 159 to 163. I have been stressed with work and my blood sugar levels have been very low at times. I was told to avoid caffine and anything "white" and stress as they all affect sugar levels but it is a vicious cycle becasue I get a headache and shakey so I run for the coffee....I bought a couple books on hypoglecemia which is what the doctor calls it...somtimes I have been able to cheat and eat sugar and other times I feel terrible...so why not just avoid it ....well that is a whole other post and I am sure you ladies all understand it is hard.....anyway..I need to get right back to the basics of protein drinks. I always feel so much better when I do. Here's to a week of change.... I enjoy all your posts...I get such quiet encouragement when I sit at work and read about the small successes everyone is having. Day to day....that is what it is all about. Hugs to all, Karen

I'm the same way. I joke that when I sit my skin spreads and I look melted because it spreads flat. I know that sounds gross but it's true. LOL I probably have about 6 inches of skin hanging from my arms. I have that same innertube around my stomach and its icky!!! It is actually causing my back to ache because of the weight of it. My boobs......oh my looks like someone stuck a pin in them and they deflated. My thighs look bad too, I have huge deflated saddle bags, it simply just looks nasty. I don't know when I'll be able to afford plastic surgery but I don't care, I'll have it someway somehow.
