Hey girlfriend...
It varies from day to day... I aim for between 900-1200 with a maximum of 1600.
Sometimes you have to eat more (of the right stuff) to lose more. Just depends on the person and their metabolic make up.
Glad you're on the train...
Have a great day!!

Hey Denise,
I was just reading some of your other post in regards to what you are eating. So you are only taking in about 900-1000 calories? Gee, now I really feel like a pig!!!!! I take in about 1200-1500 calories. Last week I tried dropping down to 1000, I was tired and my head started hurting. Anyway, are you ever hungery? Do you have trouble with being tired or any other issues? Also, I notice when I drop down in the amount I am taking in, I get really cold. I was actually able to find out why this was happening, it is your metabolism slowing down to conserve the few calories you are taking in, thus lowering your core temp. and making you the person feel cold.
Anyway, I was just wondering!

Yesterday I followed plan completely and then fell face first into too many South Beach oatmeal cookies. I can't handle these. I've got to stop buying them!!! I overslept again... Tomorrow, I must get my round self up to exercise in the pool. I know my poolmates are wondering where I am and they will want a credible excuse for my absence, for which I have none!!!
Breakfast: AchievOne
Snack: Swiss cheese
Lunch: AchievOne
Snack: Deli Turkey
Dinner: AchievOne
Snack: Lowrey's Pork Rinds
Have a great day!!

Looking good, Nancy!
I've been out of control a bit with carbs. Healthy ones, like barley, but still carbs... Doing a bit of grazing that I need to knock off too. I started exercising about 2 months ago and fairly quickly dropped 7lbs.
Who said that if you exercise you can eat more??!!!?!?!?!? My 7 lbs are back! I guess some ppl can eat more, but IIIIIII can't.... I wish I could say that I *like* exercising - I know many ppl feel that way and say when they miss a workout they feel awful. Ha! Not me... I'm afraid if I stop, I'll never go again. I think that's going to be my struggle - to force myself to exercise...
So today I've started reigning in the mindless eating. Cutting back a bit on the carbs. And *pretending* that I like exercise.

Good morning all!!
I had another good day yesterday eating wise. I really have to get back to exercising - I used to enjoy it so much, now it seems such a struggle. Once again, I have to push and hope to get back into the groove. I'd love to go for a walk but the humidity and the rain are just terrible here right now.
I varied from what I had planned yesterday, but still stayed pretty good. I am trying to incorporate some veggies and fruits into my diet. I had always stayed away from them because they are carby (yet I always found excuses for pretzels
), but I've decided there has to be a balance, so I'm either not going to count the carbs or just cut them in half. Here's what I had yesterday:
B: 1/2 Kashi GoLean bar
L: 1/3 large chicken breast
D: the rest of the chicken breast and 1 cup of chopped spinach
Snacks: 1/2 Power Crunch bar; cherries, about 8 thin pretzels (yes, yes - I ate some dreaded pretzels!!
)
Totals:
Calories: 762
Carbs: 42
Protein: 83
*******************
Here's today's plan:
B: Isopure Zero Carb protein powder in choc Carb Countdown
L: Cookies n Cream Power Crunch bar
D: 2 TJ's salmon patties with a bit of FF mayo, chopped spinach
Snacks: Kashi go lean bar, cherries, and yes - probably a couple more of those pretzels....
Totals:
Calories: 873
Carbs: 51
Protein: 87
I'm also going to try and get in more water - I've been slacking in that department lately, and I think it's especially important in this muggy weather....
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!
Hugs,
Nancy

Pamela,
I've seen you go through so many changes over the last 2 years. You have come a LONG LONG way and should be very proud of yourself. Not everything can be measured by the number on a scale.
It's really odd and frankly kind of sad that in our society, the outside of a person is way too often used as a measure of their "success". Even in the wls community among postops. I've seen people "knock" a support group leader that was not a "normal" bmi because "in order for that person to give advice about how to do it and be successful - they need to follow their own advice". I'm paraphrasing, but WOW! When I asked if there were 2 people - one very emotionally healthy but about 25 lbs from a normal bmi or a person that was bulimic or anorexic but at a normal bmi for a lecturer - which would they listen to? You GOT it... The one with the normal bmi. Very shocking and sad.
I believe with all my heart that the more important journey with our wls is the one that isn't measured on a scale. It's the one that is inside of us. How much have we changed? Are we and the people in our lives improved by our growth? That's really the important thing - not the scale...
So Pamela, and all of the July babies that keep coming here, and picking ourselves up, dusting off and trying again - keep up the good work. YOU ARE SUCCESSES!!! You haven't given in to failure. You continue to grow and change in many deep and profound ways! And I sure hope that we will all continue to do just that!

You need to be a little like me when it comes to this.
As far as MOST of the people on these boards are concerned, I've done everything WRONG since day 1...well pppfftttt funny, if my way was so wrong, why did I reach my personal goal in 40 weeks and kept on going?
Don't worry about what other people have to say, you know what's right for you and what works for you. You WILL reach your goal, and then you'll work to maintain, in your own way, on your own terms.
What might work for Post-op X will NOT work for post-op Z.....hell when people ask me what I do and eat to lose, I laugh, if the average person ate what I eat (especially on the way down) they'd gain, not lose.
Moderation is the key, not eliminating all carbs etc from your diet....I mean seriously....I don't know about you, but I had this surgery to become more *normal* which in turn means being able to eat like a normal person. So, if everyone else can have pizza and ice cream, why can't I? All I do is have smaller servings
Anyhow...don't get upset about people trying to lecture, and acting like they know better than anyone else, because in most cases, those people know absolutely nothing anyway
Hugsssssssssssss and keep it up, you're doing great!
