Hey July 2004 Babies!!

Where is everyone?  This is the time we all need support.  I don't know about the rest of you...but I'm struggling more now than I have since surgery.  Gained 25# and am having a problem getting it off!  So frustrating!  If anyone's out there lurking...please join in and let's support each other.  Nancy -- Lisa -- WHERE ARE YOU?  How are you doing?

Hi everyone - I'm back!   When I'm not around that usually means I'm off on a binge and that's what happened.  I wasn't awful, but wasn't really watching either.  I'm back up to 184, so today I'm back on SBD, Phase1.   At this point in time, I'll be happy if I can maintain 173-174.   I don't think I'll ever get back down to the 160's, co I'm going to try and be reasonable about it.

Things went well with my son's child support and visitation court case and we actually had my beautiful grandson last weekend.  He is a precious 9 month old and just as good natured and sweet as can be.  I'm in love....

I hope to be back here every day checking in - I really need this board for support!!

Hi Lisa,

I'm still hanging around -- just haven't been on the website for a while.  You may recall that I lost 5 lbs. during the 5DPT...gained back 2 over the following weekend...and then proceeded to gain all 5 lbs. back!  It's so frustrating!  I tried going back on the 5DPT, but wasn't very successful the second time around!

I did a 5K walk/run yesterday, so I burned a few calories...but not enough!  I'm thinking of going back to Jazzercise.  Although it really kicks my butt (and I HATE to sweat), it was probably the best workout I ever got.  I think I need to get back to a regular exercise routine.

Hope Nancy's doing okay.  Last post I saw from her said her son's court date was coming up soon.  I sure hope it went in his favor!

Good luck with your dental surgery.  I'm sure you'll feel much better once that distraction is gone!

Take care!

Well, today is the last day of my vacation.  I didnt wake up until 11:40!!  So, I missed breakfast, but I did have a LC flatbread for lunch.  My tooth is still very much bothering me.  I go in for surgery on Friday, where they said I will need at least 3 days off from work.  When they first told me that, I couldnt beleive it!  But then they explained the procedure and now I am actually a bit  nervous.  I'm having a Lia Sophia Jewelry party here Saturday, and I am planning to still have it.  My hubby and adult son will help me.  I am ordering finger sandwiches and then its just a couple friends, sister in laws, and co workers.  Its worth the free jewelry!!! So, here is todays plan:

B:  Missed it!

L:  LC flatbread sandwich

S:  1 or 2 cheesburgers without bun

S:  Protein bar

exercise:  tonight is bowling league night; 3 strings

I want to hear from everyone!!! How are you ????

Topic: Here I am
Hi  Ladies, you might be seeing a similar post twice.  I just wanted to check in.  I see the board is very inactive, so everyone is probably struggling.  I am on vacation, and have PROMISED myself that come Sunday, its BACK TO BASICS.  I have had a nice vacation, but have let old habits come back.  I havent weighed myself in days, the last time I was up to 285 which is about 8 lbs gained.  I feel good though, and I am confident that things will be okay and I will do well again.  Tommorow night my brother in law has group and I go with him.  It is a follow up group to the surgery.  I went last month also.  He is doing awesome, he is the one who had the surgery on my 4 year anniversary date.  He has lost about 75 since surgery, and almost 100 all together.  I know he will be successful because he is following Drs. orders to the LETTER.  I told him never to stray from the basic "rules".  He has seen a lot of us "fail" ( for lack of a better word) because we made our own rules and slid away from program.  Well, so far on vacation Ive done everything Ive wanted.  Tomorrow I am FINALLY getting this damn tooth OUT.  It hurts so bad!  After I will go get my oil change.  Ive gone to "The Big E" which is a huge fair in our area.  I bought some stuff for the house, and walked for about 8 hours.  Hubby surprised me by calling his work and having today as an extra vacation day.  We have a Linens & Things in the next town that is closing, so I went and bought some things for the house there.  (Our house was just rebuilt, last November 9th we lost it to a fire).  We just moved back in on April 30th, from living in a trailer on our property until then.  Monday I surprised hubby with tickets to the Red Sox game.  I was hoping his brother could go, but he couldnt, so he took his best friend.  I just had the opportunity to get the tickets before I left work Friday so there wasnt much notice.

Well, now I must end this book.  The last post that I dont think made it was only a few sentences!   I hope everyone is well.  Please keep in touch!!!

Hugs, Lisa

Hey Lisa - you're not alone.  I'm really struggling too and eating to soothe myself.  I had a grand time in Boston this weekend, ate a bit more than I'm used to, but walked a lot.  I haven't weighed myself since I'm back and I've been doing a lot of eating and not the right things.

The court case for child support and visitation for my grandson is coming up on Monday and it's very stressful now that the other grandmother won't talk to me.    I'm trying to prepare my son as much as possible - he has some learning disabilities and ADHD and sometimes doesn't think very quickly on his feet.   Really all he wants to tell the judge is that he loves his son and wants to be in his life.  Unfortunately, we don't know if the mother's family are coming with a lawyer or what.  We did speak with a lawyer just to understand what the process is - I'm hoping we can settle it all at one time and not have to go back.

Anyway, I'll be glad when it's over and until then hopefully I won't do too much more damage.  On Monday I am starting back on the 5DPT - until then I'm hoping not to be too terribly bad.  I have my tap class tonight, so that's at least a good workout.

Lisa - I've also eaten even when I'm sick - what does that tell you?   This isn't just a matter of will power - there's an obsession at work here that I think we will battle all of our lives.

Oh well, all we can do is keep plugging away and with the help of our friends here on the July 2004 board we'll make it!!

Topic: I did pretty well today
Hi Nancy, Gail, & Lurkers... (lol)

I stuck to plan today outside of doing the track.  Im just to sore and tired.  I didnt overeat though.  My husband made tomato sauce with tomatoes, oregeno, and peppers fresh from the garden.  I did have several bites of pasta and sauce.  I also had a late night cheese and crackers from Keebler.  That is 4 protein and 5 sugar.  So, not the best choice, but not bad!!!  It satisfied my craving.  My tooth is coming out NEXT Thursday.  So, until then its the antibiotic, orajel once an hour, and the pain med.  I hope I dont run out of it.  Here is my plan for today (well once I get up; right now its 2am!)

B:  weight control oatmeal w/ fresh fruit (this morning I was running late so I had a protein bar and bannana instead of the oatmeal)

L:  Salad bar from the grocery store

S:  some pasta and h.m. sauce

not sure for snacks; no track because I am working late

HOPE EVERYONE IS HANGING IN!!!

Hugs, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Sounds like you're having a rough time.  So sorry to hear that -- I know how hard it is to stay on track when you're feeling good!  Nothing worse than feeling crappy and trying to stay on course.  Your health, of course, is what's most important, so get that tooth taken care of.  There's always time to get back on track!

Your plan for tomorrow sounds good!  Hope you can manage with a sore tooth!

I tried going back on the 5DPT this week, but I'm not having much success.  I keep cheating!  Oh well, I'll try again next week after we get back from our weekend up north.

Take care -- stay in touch!

Gail

Yep...sore tooth, hungry stomache... And so it goes.  I had a bad sore stomache due to some rather strong Vicadin for a bad tooth I have.  Its actually a baby tooth!!! The adult one is impacted and is laying diagnally across it.  The baby one is badly decayed. The dentist gave me Tylenol 3 with Codeine today, and I might as well take nothing.  Hmmm, maybe a half of Vicadin and two Tylenol is the answer???!!!  SO, with an AWEFUL sore stomache and no sleep, what do you do at 2am??? EAT leftover pasta of course!  Turning to food for comfort, where have I heard that before?  Eating even though your belly hurts...me? NEVER... (yeah right).  So, the last two days I have been way off.  I havent been to the track in a week and a half.  From the beginning of April to mid may I was SO SICK with some sort of odd virus that they say may have been Lyme disease.  On my way home from the dentist today I had a panic attack that I might be getting it again.  They were never sure what it was, and what kind of virus lasts 6 weeks?!  The "woe is me" game and pity party are going strong.  Another solution is of course to avoid the board.  Dont list the foods.  Well, I KNOW we have all struggled and gotten down, and I need you all to be strong with me.  So, here is a fresh start for tomorrow.

B:  Weight Control Oatmeal with a sliced bannana or sliced strawberries

L:  LC meal

S: Pork Chops, broccoli, stuffing, in measured portions

Sn: Protein bar

TRACK

Whats really baffling and always has been, is while Im doing it I feel so good... so why is it so easy to have those bad habits come on??? Peace to all...
