I'm exercising at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week too because I know that will help take off the inches. I hate that my clothes feel tight and the Spring will be upon us before we know it!
I hope you'll check in every day because I really think it helps to be accountable.
I'm SO glad you're back!!!!

I started last Monday at 203.6 and this morning I was 194.4, so I'm happy. I didn't exercise on Friday or Saturday, but will today for sure (unless you call cleaning the house, doing laundry and shoveling 4" of snow exercise! )
I don't expect the weight loss to continue like it did the first week - now I'll be on a steadier pace, but at least I've broken the cravings for sugar, bad carbs and the need to be stuffing my face every minute.
My long term goal is to get down to 173. I'd love to be in the 160's, but even right after the surgery I only got to 163 and that was a real struggle. My body seems comfortable at 173 and I know it's do-able. My short term goal is to get into the 180s. I'm hoping to do that in the next two weeks. I know that if I continue the exercise I'll also lose inches faster, so that's important too.
So - where are all of my July babies?? I know some of you need to get back on the train, so don't give up - it's never too late and the train is always runnin'!!

I figured I would start a new thread instead of adding on to old ones.
I'm still hanging in there - I was down to 195.6 today, so that's 8 lbs. since Monday - I certainly can't complain about that. I just feel so mad at myself that I've lost 8 lbs. and I'm still in the mid-190's. I promised myself I'd never get above 180 again and look where I am! I'm so afraid to gain back the weight and even after 4.5 years, I still don't know how to eat right. I'm a sugar and bad carb-aholic and I really believe the only way to deal with that is abstinence. That's why the South Beach diet is so good for me. I'm still kind of doing the liquid thing - a protein shake in the morning, cream of chicken soup for lunch and then maybe eggbeaters for dinner. That's it. On Monday I will go back on the SBD. I'm glad I still have my menus from the last time I did it - I will follow that. I would really recommend it because I felt like I was eating all day.
I'm also trying to do at least 30 minutes of exercise 6-7 days a week.
How's everyone doing???
RIght now I am doing the adkins thing. Lots of protein - lots of salads.
WOW....203.6 to 196 in 3 days?? That is incredible. Good job , girl!!!
Carnie led you to believe that it was thru dieting and exercise. She is 5 months pregnant too! She is at 160 something and she looked really good. She is such a publicity hound that if she had done the revision I am sure we would have known every detail. Maybe she was short on details cuz she is writing another book! hehehe.
I might just be a tad bit jaded.....

Hi dk,
I find with me it is all or nothing. Everything is extremes. I either diet really hard and don't go off it in the least or I binge eat.
Have you tried South Beach? I did very well on that. I lost like 20 lbs in six weeks and I was eating all the time. I'm continuing on with my liquids during the day and protein in the evening I went from 203.6 to 196.0 in three days, so at least I feel like I'm on the right track. I've also been exercising every day - 30 minutes Walk Away the Pounds. I think I've broken myself of the sugar and carb cravings, so tomorrow I will start again on the South Beach diet.
PS: I wonder if Carnie had a revision.
However, I am doing low carb and since the new year have been working hard at it.
I really am discouraged that at 4 years out most of us start gaining. THey never tell you how little restriction you will feel at that point.
I did see Carnie Wilson on Oprah on MOnday and she said she lost 50 lbs in 6 months and that it was pretty easy> she didn't give any specifics though!! How dare she!!
Good luck everyone....I know how u feel. I was watching Biggest Loser last night and feared that I will end up like the poor man who is there at 400 plus pounds and has already had a failed RNY.

I got myself back on track on Monday. I was 203.6 - UGH! That's the highest I've been since my surgery. I was way out of control, eating everything in sight - cookies, candy, you name it.
I'm doing the 5 Day Pouch Test and just finished my two days of liquids. I weighed this morning and I was down 7.4 lbs. to 196.2. I've been exercising too. On Monday, I had a one hour tap class where we REALLY sweat. Yesterday I did the 2 mile WATP. This morning I did the 2 mile WATP again and will do another this afternoon with my friend. I really think exercise is key. You might not lose pounds but you will lose inches.
Hoping to stay strong and on track!!
Where are my other July babies????
