We went to Dave and Buster's. It was a shot, so i'm assuming there wasn't much sugar in it. I haven't really tried any of the big mixed drinks. It went to my head pretty quickly, but the effects wore off just as fast. FREAKY DEEKY Created by the Dave & Buster's mixologists in Providence, RI. Ready to get your freak on? Then get ready for Bacardi Limon and Disaronno Amaretto with a jolt of lime juice and a splash of cranberry juice. It's freakin' amazing! It really is amazing, the drink didn't even taste like there was any alcohol in it.

Kaycee, You are truly amazing! Over 200 lbs lost pre-op! That is so fantastic! Weight loss surgery is not magic, nor is it a cure. You will need these skills you've developed for your long term success. You have a giant jump on the rest of us! Lori 384/245/168

Wow, wow, and wow! How did you lose so much weight so quickly? I started out at 530 and am now at 459; I've been on a modified Optifast plan since February and have lost 71 lbs, but that's nothing compared to what you have accomplished in barely over a year! I'd like to know what kind of routine you used or are using to become more ambulatory. I can walk short distances with a walker, but get tired if I go too far. I also have supportive medical folks -- isn't it a nice change from the usual stuff docs like to throw at us? Again, well done! Kix

I can walk short distances with a walker, but get tired if I go too >far. I have been on 1500 calories a day. I started on Optifast too. The plan called for just Optifast for a week and then adding in one meal of no more than 500 calories. I added it up and I was to have a total of about 1500 calories a day. As time went on I moved to more real food and less Optifast, eventually moving to just food. I have just tried to keep it to 1500 calories a day. I also try to get a good balance nutritionally. (I just used the good old food pyramid as a reference there.) I have good days and bad days, bet overall I have done well. Actually, you are doing pretty close to what I have. 71 lbs. is probably about where I was at your point. It looks like we are about the same size now. As to the ambulation, when I started at 658, I could not take a step on my own and only a couple with a walker. I was almost completely bedridden. The very first excercise that I worked on was to simply try to lay in bed and lift each leg in the air. At that time I was lucky to get them up an inch or two. I can point them at the ceiling now. Over time I got to where I could walk with the walker. At first I would get my son to follow behind me with a chair. I would take maybe 7 or 8 steps and then have to sit. Gradually we did not have to do that any more and I started to make it around the house with the walker. A turning point came about 2 months ago or so. I started trying to walk up and down a narow hall just holding the walls instead of using the walker. As I was able to do that, I would let go and and take a couple of steps before grabbing on to the wall again. As I went, 2 steps became 6 or 8 and the, 20 or 30. At this point I walk around the house without using the walker at all although I do still frequently grab on to walls, furnature, etc. for a little extra balance. When I go out some where with any significant walking I use an electric scooter. I t sounds like you are doing great. I know where you are coming from and it is a hard road, but we are going to get there. Keep up the good work, we are gonna make it!
