Hi All, I need some suggestions on what I can do to keep from being hungry all the time. I eat plenty of protein, drink plenty of water and still seem to be hungry. Thanks for any suggestions Denise K.

Hi Denise, How frequently do you eat? Maybe try to space your meals out at even intervals. It could also be that you are not getting enough calories. Is it possible that you may be pregnant? I remember when I became pregnant, I wasn't aware that I was yet, but I ate my diet and couldn't figure out why I was always so hungry. Come to find out, the baby was causing me to burn more calories, so I had to eat more. Good luck to you. Teah

Hi Teah, No way I can be pregnant... I had a hysterectomy 11 years ago. I have to get up very early in the morning to get ready for work. Up at 4 am and leave for work around 5 to be to work at 6. I have a break about 8 then have lunch about 11:30, then have another break around 1:30 or so then off at 3:00. Then come home and fix dinner for my family around 5 and hope to get to bed by 8. I have to work at least 5 days a week sometimes more. Lately it has been more. Today I got thru most of the day except for when I get off of work without getting too hungry. Then I think I'm just starving to death until I can fix dinner. I will get thru this. Thanks so much for your help. Denise K.

Denise, Your day sounds a lot like mine. But if you are hungry in the afternoon, have another healthy snack, maybe a handfull of nuts or a small piece of fruit between the time you leave work and before dinner. That may help. I think in one of the other posts you mentioned yogurt as an afternoon snack? Maybe you should try lunch meat and cheese or cheese and crackers or peanut butter with fruit. Because of yogurt's consistency, it moves through the pouch pretty quickly and could be causing that afternoon hunger. Good Luck Teah

Denise, do you eat a lot of carbs? I find when I eat carbs, I crave more and more. I don't know exactly how you get your protein, but if you're drinking it, maybe you can try eating more dense foods like chicken breast or steak. That seems to help me stay full. Let us know how you're doing..... Hugs, Nancy 280/176/155

Hi Nancy, I try not to have too many carbs. I know I have more some days than others. I have a protein shake in the morning when I get up and another one before I go to bed. Then I have protein with my meals. Like I told Teah I did really good today until I got off of work at 3 then I was just starving to death. I had lunch at 11:30 (SmartOnes frozen dinner) and a string cheese. Then at my 1:30 break I had a yogurt. I need to figure out how to track my food on fitday but haven't figured out how to do it yet. I want to start tracking what I eat with Denise and you gals, need to get the fitday thing figured out first. I do read everyones post everyday and learn alot. Thanks so much for your help. Denise K.

Hi Denise, Haven't heard from you for a while. I have gone through periods where I could eat a horse, but it passes. Also I have problems when I eat too many grams of fat and/or refined carbs I seem to be hungrier. When you eat carbs, eat only whole grain. I even eat pasta occassionally, but either whole wheat or spelt pasta. And paradoxically (I can't spell) if I don't exercise I seem to be hungrier. I thought I was getting plenty of protein, but when I actually started logging my foods, I discovered I was not getting enough protein. Hope some of what we all have posted. Thank goodness we have this board for support. Monna

Hi Monna, Like I told the others I did do better today. I have tried to cut out having, bread, pasta, potatoes and things like that. I don't always get in my exercise like I'd like to. I work in surgery so I'm running all the time, (transporting patients to and from surgery and helping change over the rooms between cases) so by the time I get home the last thing I want to do is excercise, I will though, if I want to get these last 84 lbs off I'm gonna have to. I really enjoy reading the post on this board, they are a great help many times. You take care and Thanks for your help. Denise K.
