Well... I have exactly 10 days until my next weigh in. It's amazing how fast 10 days can go. There's nothing in my path to stop me from having a decent loss in 10 days. My mom went home (back to Maryland) today and I've cleared the house of all tempting items. I can't tell you I didn't sample while I was clearing. I wish I could. Bottom line, it's out the house now and I'm stepping up the protein. I've also decided to plan when I'm going to eat and space the meals out. I'm tweaking this process as I go, I know I will hit my stride with evey tweak. So... here's the new plan for Sunday: 8:00 am: Tilpia (4 oz) 11:30 am Celery 1:30 pm Steak 3:30 pm Shrimp Romaine Lettuce Vingarette Dressing 5:30 pm Sugar free popsicle 7:30 pm Sugar free apple cider 64 oz. Crystal Lite Nutrition: Calories 926 Fat 29 Carb 9 Protein 140 Exercise: 30 minutes resistance training 30 minutes stair machine What's your plan? Denise

Ok so much for my good intentioned liquid protein diet. Because I woke up this morning feeling like I wanted to chew something. I also had some potato chips last night, not a lot, but never the less I had did good all day, and then when i sit down with my son to watch a movie, I slip up. That was the only undesirable thing I did yesterday. Here's today's menu 4:30 Protica Protein 7:00 Dannon Yogurt Smoothie Egg Cheese 2oz Chicken Lunch Protein Smoothie Dinner Red Beans and Lean Ground Beef w/Okra and bell peppers Calories 1003 Fat 35 Carbs 44 Protein 127 Exercise Mall Walking

WAAAAAAA! Back up to 176. I really don't understand it. I've been SO good - low calories and carbs, high protein, lots of water, walking between 2 & 4 miles a day and I've been hovering between 175-176 for nine days. I'm just about ready to say the heck with it, but not quite. My brain tells me that logically I should be dropping weight. Then I think maybe my body is in starvation mode, but after surgery when I ate 100 calories a day I dropped weight... . Also, I don't think I'm in starvation mode - I'm getting about 900 calories a day. Today I'm going to try and eat at least 1200 calories and maybe not exercise and see if that jump starts my loss. If not, maybe I'll try all liquids tomorrow. Here's my plan for today: B: Louis Rich turkey bacon - 2 slices, two boiled or scrambled eggs S: peanut butter on Carb Fix pretzels L: Boca burger with green salad, SF dressing, applesauce no sugar added S: WW Flakes & Fiber cereal D: Diet Coke Chicken breast - 4 oz., spaghetti squash S: 2 South Beach Oatmeal Choc chip cookies Possibly - Unjury to up the protein Totals: Calories: 1196 (with Unjury) 1116 (without Unjury) Carbs: 56 - this is really high for me...the squash has 10 grams, but someone told me once they don't count the carbs in veggies, so I'm not going to count those today. Protein: 118 (w/Unjury) 98 (w/o Unjury) Trying to hang in there..... Hugs, Nancy 280/176/155

Nancy... maybe your body is just adjusting to the good things you're doing for it. Maybe you should try weighing once per week. Then you can be sure to see good results... Weighing daily would drive me crazy and probably frustrate me into delving into the carbs and sweets I love so much... Just a thought... Please don't stop doing what you're doing, you're doing so well. We really can't compare ourselves 18 months out with how it was in the beginning. Your body was in a healing mode and the weight just fell off, almost without much work, now we have to work at it. It could just be fluid, that will pass with time. You're on a roll. Please don't get off the roll because the scale is acting up for a minute, it will balance out... Hang in there!!! I can't wait to be on roll!! Denise

Hi, I posted today's plan last night. I did add more protein powder to my drink this morning to get my protein up to 80 grams. Plan to stick to the rest. I have been getting in 45 minutes on the Gazelle--finally figured out my DVR so I can tape my quilting shows to watch while I exercise. It has sure help pass the time. The scales teased me with 231 this morning, but I'm not counting it until I can see it two mornings in a row. That would be 7 lbs. I am sticking with the 233 right now, but that is still 5 lbs. since we started this. I see I eat a lot more carbs than any of you. Most of it is in fresh fruit which keeps me from craving sweet surgary stuff. I have quit eating bread, but yesterday I just had to have cereal so I did with the high protein Ka****hat was sooooo good. I have come to the (and for me sad) realization that I will probably have to food journal the rest of my life if I really want this tool to work. It is just too easy to get back into those habits that put the weight on before. I don't ever want to feel like I felt before surgery. I don't just mean the psychological feelings, but the near death state of my health. I realize how far I have come and want to go farther. Thanks to you Denise for starting this, Lady Teah and Nancy for your faithful posts. It all helps me considerably. Monna
