Depressed

I am so stuck at 170! I have been 170 for the last three months and the scales aren't moving at all. Is this as low as I am going to go? I wanted to get down to 140, its my goal. Is anyone else where I am? Any suggestions would be appreciated! I have just recently taken a fall and have a torn meniscus in my knee, which means that I haven't been working out because I can't without pain. I try each day to track my calories so that I don't eat too much. I feel guilty when I can't stay under 1200 and worry that I am falling back into the old ways. I feel like I can eat so much more these days, and am so depressed thinking that I am going to gain it all back. Any suggestions? Tami 275/170/140

have you tried the plateau buster diet? That might be a good place to start. It really helps get things moving again. I don't have it on hand, maybe someone else here can post it. Nancy posted it awhile back. I'm sorry your hurt too. Hugs, Deejay 259/150.5/150 -108.5 PS in January

I was also stuck at 170 for 3 or 4 months. I just recently started to lose again but extreamly slow, it's taken me about 2 more months to lose 6 pounds. I notice that if I stay busy and don't snack is when I lose a little. I too have had knee problems and have not been exercising much. Just because your stuck does not mean that your going to gain it back! I too worry about falling back into my old ways! Are you staying away from sugar and caffeine? I have had a problem drinking to much Diet Coke, so I've switched to caffeine free and have cut back to 1 a day. It's only been a few days but I can tell the difference already. Please feel better, think about how far you have come and how good you look! Gail RYN - 07/01/04

I would love to be stuck at 170! I've been stuck in the 230's for almost 4 months. I haven't even been visiting the board because I was so depressed. Monday I started the plateau buster diet (don't even ask why it took so long) and the pounds are coming off. Of course, I keep thinking it is all water weight. But other good things have happened. I am off 2 more of my medications and my pulmonary artery pressure is down to 32--normal is 25. I am thrilled to be where I am, but I so want to weigh less than 200. Maybe things will start to happen again. Monna

Hi Tami, I am feeling the same way. I have been stuck at 180 for the longest time. I gain a couple lose a couple but always manage to stay at 180. My own personal goal is to get to 150, but at times I feel like I will never get there. I go to the gym 3-4 sometimes 5 times a week and I am still stuck. The past couple of days I have been trying to lay off the snacks, just eating my 3 meals per day. We will see what happens!!!! Good luck to you and hang in there. They say it gets harder and it really is. Wish I could give you some more advice but that is why I am here right now, trying to read about what to do next!!!! Good luck and take care!! If you come up with any ideas please let me know and I will do the same.

You said it!! It is getting harder, but who knew it was going to be this hard. I thank you all for your responses, looks like some of us are in the same boat. Maybe it's our bodies trying to adjust to the change and quick loss. I don't have a copy of the plateau buster diet, could any of you who have a copy post it so we who don't have it can try it? Good luck to my friends still trying to get down to the 170s, you will get there, looks like we just need to be patient. (We all hate that, I am sure.) ((((HUGS)))) to you all!! Tami 275/170/140
