I was just wondering if anybody has their PCP chew then out every month for losing too much weight? I started at 330 and I'm at 150 now. (that 180 lbs btw)My labs are beyond great. And other than the fact I STILL haven't regrown any hair back that I lost.....sigh. But my regular doctor is worried that I just keep losing weight no matter what I eat. My surgeon even allowed rice and potaoes back into my diet. and my 10 yr old son asked the PA at my yearly check up if people can die from being too skinny.his answer of no didn't satisfy him 'cause Dr. Krahns' PA had already said he never heard of anybody with vit. deficencies from WLS. (WTF) Any how. I hear how many of you have peaked or even gained wt back, how??? I needed to lose weight but I don't want to be a stick. And having to drink "bulk-up shakes would truly be ironic. Getting worried, Velvet

Well, I haven't peaked yet, nor regained any - I'm still losing. I guess I'll worry about losing too much once my BMI gets close to the low end of normal. Right now, I'm just within normal, so I don't guess that would make me too skinny! So all that to say, why not use that same logic for yourself. If your BMI says "normal", then don't worry about it. If you're not yet to normal BMI, then to still lose is fine!! But I truly do think it will stop at some point, or slow down a great deal so we could more easily control the loss. KWIM? Who woulda thought we would EVER have to discuss getting too thin?!! Traci 250/146/149

Yes - I have...I have lost more then I was suppose to lose. PCP told me next time he sees me he wants me to weigh at least 5 pounds more then I do...And - since then I have lost 5 more pounds... I have upped my carbs - eat potatoes, bread, tortillas, etc. I have tried -without much sucess - to get in more calories a day (I am lucky if I get in 1000) There are people who have this surgery who the weight lose does NOT stop and they end up malnourished, etc. However- it is not policitically correct - at least on this site - to discuss that. I am terrified every day... Anne 263/150/135

Hiya Velvet.... I've heard that once your body reaches its comfortable level that it will slow down and level off. I... "unfortunately" am not in your position.... I had my surgery a day before you .. and have only lost 105 pounds. I started at 312.. and now weigh 208. I do want to lose another 40-50 pounds.. and I'm worried that I won't be able to lose it.... The scales stay pretty much the same for me every week. Good Luck.... ! Chrystle

I have lost more than ever expected and continue to lose in spite of increasing my calories. I hot normal BMI at 149 lbs and now am 147 lbs. Back in July the Dr said I have minimum of 20 lbs of skin that could come off probably even more. I am more than happy where I am at but it does cross my mind that what happens if I lose too much. I am 5'5" and almost 50 yrs old so this weight even without all the extra skin is good. I just continue to eat haelthy, healthier than I ever have but do try and increase my calories now so I can maintain. Janette RNY 7-13-04 363/147 - 216 lbs
