How much can you eat?
Hello All!
I'm a lurker, only posted a couple of times, but I read often. Just wondering, at this point, now a year (or close to it for some) out, how much food is everyone able to consume at one meal? I have more trouble with meat now then I did 8 months out, so I rely on protein drinks and bars, but as far as real solid food goes, I can only eat about 3-4 ounces at a time, and sometimes that's pushing it. How about everyone else, is your quantity of food consumed approaching more normal levels, or is it still at pretty small amounts?

I can eat more than I'd like to be able to and definitely more than I was able to eat 6 months ago. I've noticed that the more relaxed I am the more I can eat. 3 months ago I could half a small bagel. Now I can sometimes eat a whole small bagel. This alarms me and sets off the little voice inside my head that screams, "See, you're gonna fail at this too!" So for the past 3 months I've started paying very close attention to what I eat and why and how often. I know, from written documentation, that I'm still eating far far less than I did pre-op, but it makes me nervous. I still drink protein drinks, at least one a day. I can 12 medium sized shrimp. I can eat, as I said, a bagel. I can eat almost an entire Lean Cuisine meal which has chicken, veggies and rice. I guess I'm probably able to eat "normal" quantities of food at this point.

As far as quantity... Depends on th day for me ... I too still have trouble with chicken and beef.. Seafood and Turkey are the only things I really tolerate well.. some days I can barely get in one meal other days I can graze all day

Well i varies for me . like the other day i woke up starving and i poached 3 eggs put them on a piece of toast w/ cheese on it and a thin slice of turkey and ate every bite ... I can eat a whole can of tuna at lunch time .. and other days i have to make myself eat 1 egg and can only eat half a can of tuna ..
