Do you still drink protein "shakes" ?
I haven't tolreated shakes from the get-go. My gag reflex is twitching just typing about the protein shakes. It's the taste--I just can't get past it. I can tolreate some protein bars, and I eat ~3 bars a week. My protein levels are fine.
I drink milk. I eat cheese. I have some protein fortified snacks. I do well with any meat (except dry meats--chix breast gets stuck if it's not juicy or with gravy--but I can eat beef jerky--go figure).

I gave up on protein shakes about three weeks post-op. I couldn't stand them! A couple of months ago, I tried shaking up my meal plan (turkey and string cheese for breakfast EVERY DAY kind of gets to you after eight months!) and tried shakes again. At first, I drank the Slim Fast low-carb and the Atkins shakes, but they're so high in calories that I switched to Advant Edge (100 calories/15 g protein).
My 1oz string cheese and 1 oz turkey has the same calories and protein as the shake does, but the shake lasts much longer in terms of keeping hunger at bay. I guess it's all the extra vitamins and minerals packed in. So lately, I've been having the shakes for breakfast, although I will occasionally have something else.

I have one every day without fail. I use the costco chocolate whey 1 1/2 scoops with 12 ozs of water heated, a splash of sf vanilla syrup and a couple shots of expresso. The only time I dont make this is if I am traveling and than I have 2 advant edge cafe caramel for a total of 30-35 gms of protein. Couldnt start my day without them.

I drink one every morning while I get ready for work. I drinkt the AdvantEdge cafe caramel. It's like having coffee. 100 cal, 15 pro. There is also a low carb Myoplex coffee flavor that has something like 150 cal, 25 pro. It is a lot thicker than the advantedge, so it takes some getting used to.
I never have been good at making my own protein shakes. I still have one of the small bags from when I was preparing for surgery!!

Yup -- still have them every single day! I have a chocolate Advantage in the morning for breakfast, and then a Myoplex Cafe Caramel in the afternoon for a total of 40 gms. protein. I know a lot of people can't stand the taste of the protein drinks...but I truly look forward to them! I also have at least 1 Power Crunch bar (I'm trying to limit myself to one a day...I think I like them TOO much!)
