Oh boy, I hope you're all sitting down.....
Where oh where to begin..... Well, I guess I just dive right in.....it seems, that apparently I'm pregnant. I was due to start my period on Sunday, but it was a no show. Monday I started to suspect something when I woke up and it still hadn't shown. Tuesday I bought an HPT, and there is absolutely no denying it. The pos. line is by far darker than the test line.....and it's still there! I have an EDD of Jan.11, and am nervous as hell!
I called my surgeon on his cell and talked to him at length about my concerns, and he was very reassuring. He said that I'm doing great and am so far ahead of schedule, that he has no concerns. He mentioned that he was taken care of dozens of women who weren't as far out as I am, and all had normal, healthy pregnancies and babies. (some that were only 2-3mos out) I will be seeing either him or the head of the Obesity program once a month so they can monitor me and my health, independant of the baby. I go in tomorrow morning so they can get a "baseline" on me w/which to compare my subsequent visits. They are also going to be monitoring certain levels w/their own blood tests, so I'll be a nice little pincushion.
I'm still really nervous as this is NOT when we planned on getting pg, but it was obviously meant to be (the little bugger got through both condoms AND spermacide!!!) so I'll have to go w/the flow. Just thought I'd share my drama for the week.

First let me just say congrats on baby. I'm sure you will be just fine. Your doc wouldn't lie to you. You are doing great with your weight loss and I am sure you will be suprised how well you do with everything with the pregnancy. Good luck to you and congrats again. Have a healthy happy pregnancy. Ooooooh!!! A REAL little July baby baby!! I'm so excited - this little one will have lots of surrogate aunts and uncles.
I'm sure things will work out, and it's great that your doc is so supportive. Keep well and take extra good care of yourself, Mama!!
Hugs,
Nancy

Thanks everybody for your support and encouragement. I guess I'm just so nervous that everything go ok w/the pg. I just want to make sure that the baby does ok what w/the surgery and all. I have a history of severe hyperemesis (sickness/vomiting) when pg, and don't want to anything to go wrong. It's starting to sink in a little more now and I can feel the excitement building.
Thanks again for all the kind words and support!

Congrats Traci! I know this wasn't planned but you're a very lucky gal. I would give anything to be able to give my man a little one...would be odd considering I have 2 teenagers, but he has no kids of his own and I wish I could change that, but chances are it will never happen
Keep us up to date on how you're doing. I'm sure you and baby will be just fine
Take care, and big hugs!
