A question for the ladies...
Help! I am having the worst time with my monthly friend.
I know we were told not to take Advil, but today I had to. I was in such pain with a migraine and cramps.
My question is... Why can't we take Advil?? Either no one ever really told me, or I have just forgotten the reason. I hope I didn't screw up anything. On a better note, I am feeling a little bit better now.
I am calling the doc tomorrow to let them know what I did. I feel like I had no choice. Anyone else been there?

Hi Tami,
I dont have my friend anymore because I take the Depo shots so that I wont have it because it was so bad. But, I do get really bad sinus headaches. I dont take the Advil, but I do take Excedrin, which has the caffeine in it. Tylenol wont cut it when I get them real bad. It will be interesting to see what your doc says. Glad you feel better!

Don't make a habit of them though I had a nurse where I work tell me that Advil is hard on the stomachs so since our stomachs are snsitive we have to be careful.. Oh don't mind my spelling I am off tonite???

I hope this helps an I am glad that u are feeling better... we have all been there too...

From http://www.stronghealth.com: "Avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen, Motrin, and Advil. These medicines increase your risk of developing bleeding ulcers. Instead, use a prescription anti-inflammatory medications".
I also scanned this document, which you may find helpful:
