New to Board (kinda)
Hi everyone,
Thought I would finally jump in and introduce myself. I've been reading the posts since my surgery (7/27/04) but have never posted. I am 55 years old, and consider myself to be a slow loser (though it probably is my own fault as I don't follow all the rules all the time). I am thinking if I get involved here it might make me stay honest especially since it is a new year.
So, with that said, let the pounds fall off...

Hello and welcome, I also had surgery in July and am doing great! What do you mean you do not always follow the rules? How much have you lost already? How much did you start out at? If I can be of any help please email me back.

Welcome Kathi!
I'm glad you found us - the more the merrier!!
A lot of us had a problem staying on track during the holidays, and have decided to recommit to our WLS guidelines. Some of us are posting what we eat and exercise each day in order to help us stay focused. Perhaps you'd like to join....don't worry - none of us are perfect, but we all do our best!!
Hugs and Happy New Year,

Hi Kathi - you're my surgery twin! I also had surgery on 7/27/04. My BMI was about 41 when I had surgery, so a relative 'light weight' and my weight loss is slowing, but not stopping. I'm increasing exercise and finally logging my food intake. I hadn't been, as I didn't want to get obsessed about it, but I realized that I needed to log my food, to make sure I was getting in enough. I agree with increasing the calories a bit for weight loss; my body seemed to be holding on to the weight also, until I made an effort to get in more calories.
Hang in there!
