Meats a problem
Hi all - I haven't posted for a while - Francis knocked our cable & internet out. I will be 9 weeks out on Friday and lost 54 lbs. but seem to be having a bit of a problem with eating meat, chicken and fish. Some days are fine, but other days I eat the same things and get very sick and throw up. Do you have any suggestions or experiences with preparing meats, chicken & fish?

Sorry, I can't help - I'm having the same problem too. I'll be 9 weeks on Monday. Last week I made chicken thighs and put them in the crockpot with some creamy portobello mushroom soup and let them stew until the meat fell off the bone. I was able to eat about 1.5 oz and felt so good. The next night I had more and two tiny bites and I was running to throw it up. I can't figure it out. I haven't been able to eat tuna salad, fish, shrimp, chicken or eggs unless they are soft boiled. My diet consists of cottage cheese, thin sliced deli turkey ham and reduced fat Alpine lace swiss cheese cut up very well, soft real mozzerella balls, and soft boiled eggs. I of course have to supplement with protein drinks which I hate, but are very necessary at this point.
I do find that I need to have some sort of gravy when I am attempting to eat meats.
Hugs,
Nancy
Thank God for this board! I thought I was the only one who had trouble with meat. It's all DRY to me and chewing it is such a chore! I'm hoping that this improves soon as I don't want to keep swilling down the protein drinks for meals. I manage to choke down about an ounce of meat and then I can't stand it anymore.
I do imagine it gets better as we progress.

I have problems with meat, too. I can't really seem to eat much of anything that has high protein. Tuna, chicken, lunchmeat, it all comes back up. I can eat cottage cheese or yogurt but I still can't eat eggs and I am never hungry. I have to make myslef eat. The gummy vites do well. I don't throw them back up like I did the Flinstones chewables. I am about 8 weeks out now. I had surgery on July 12. I have lost 50 lbs or more, so I am happy with the weight loss, but I wonder if I will ever be able to eat real food again.
