2-month update
Hi everyone,
It has been 2 months since my surgery and I am so happy. I have been at a plateau for 3 weeks and fighting fluid retention that is a problem caused by my pulmonary problems. Have had to increase my diuretics (doctor's orders) and still I weigh 3 lbs more than my lowest weight since surgery. As of today I have lost 53 lbs and 21.75 total inches. The majority of the inches have come off my hips and thighs which is where I carry a lot of the weight. As of yesterday I was off any food restrictions except no beef not ground or very tender and no white bread unless toasted (I don't eat white bread anyway). I still cannot eat anything that has very much sugar in it which is a good things. I could eat SF popsicles all day long, though. Have found the answer to my cravings for chips--I bought a small bag of pork rinds and eat a couple of those when the craving for chips is overwhelming and it satisfies.
Was dying for Mexican food so my hubby took me to the local Mexican restaurant (their food has always tasted delicious to me) and I was so disappointed--it did not taste nearly as good as I thought it would. I used to drink a lot of diet Cokes. Had a taste of my husband's yesterday and it was awful. Previously, I would not eat chicken if it were the only thing available because I did not like it. Now I love grilled chicken. My husband says the next thing he knows I will be wanting turkey for Thanksgiving. (I always believed chicken, turkey and duck were called fowl because they tasted foul.) I have to go to Sacramento every couple of months to see my specialist and it was always a treat to stop at In N Out Burger for one of their double doubles. This last time I had a single (no french fries) and ate 1/2 of it before I was just so full. I did save 1/2 for lunch the next day.
I have had challenges exercising--first with the complications related to my surgery and then I wrenched my knee. When I was almost recovered from that I fell and hurt my back, then a few days later I fell and hurt me knee. I am almost healed now so I can go back to walking. (At least when I fell, I could get up with minimal assistance rather than having to need major help.)
Sorry this is so long, but so much has happened in such a short time.
Hope everyone is doing well.
