I read a great book this weekend
Has anyone else read it? It is called "Passing for Thin." There is a subtitle also, but I can't remember it just now. The author's name is Frances Kuffel. It is about a woman who loses half her weight and all the issues that she has to deal with. She did not lose her weight through WLS, but I found that a lot of the issues she addresses in the book, such has her changing relationship with food, are issues that I am facing now, too, post-op. She is also a very funny writer and there are parts in the story that made me weep with empathy.
Anyway, I am not trying to sell a book here or anything. Just thought I would pass along the title in case anyone was interested. I picked up the book at the store on friday evening and finished it last night before falling asleep! It is a good emotional quick read.
One of the parts that really hit home for me was how she would sneak food out of the kitchen when she was a little girl. I used to do that all the time: my midnight snacks. As if I hadn't had seconds with dinner and then a big dessert or something!

I also read this book. I read it before my surgery and found that it had so many parts that rang true to me. I really liked the parts about struggling with body image as she lost the weight.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants something easy to read (you can read instead of snack at night!!)
