How much weight have you lost?
Carol,
You're doing wonderful! 30.5 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at... unless your suffering form an allergies...
Look at it as a % of the weight you need to lose not as a hard single number.
Sure I'm 6 weeks out and I have lost a little over 50 pounds but I'm not discouraged at all that is 25% of what I need to lose. I'm very close to getting under 300 lbs. I haven't seen that low a weight in 5 years!
Check out the fit of your clothes. After 30 pound I'm sure your clothes all fit differently ... if they fit at all!
Just keep it up and drink like a fishy.
You're right, Lisa. I have went from a size 26 to a 24. I guess it is just my crazy brain thinking that I am not doing good enough. You know how our brains can be! One time (several years ago) I lost alot of weight and was 20 lbs away from my goal weight. I still thought I was fat as a cow!! Thanks for your imput!
I started at 352.5 lbs and I have lost 51 since my surgery on July 15th. The funny thing is that I am not sure where I went from one size to the next because I'm still wearing (swimming in) pretty much the same clothes. I know I am down at least two sizes on the top but I have these HIPS! and I really have no idea how much I have lost there. I have a box of smaller clothes than my 4X and 5X clothes but I need help from my brother or my son to get them out of the attic so I can start wearing something other than clown pants (all I need is a hool-a-hoop and suspenders and I'd make a great clown) and dresses that would pass for circus tents. I look like I escaped from PT Barnum and Bailey's circus.
I am 1 month out and have lost 22 lbs. That seems a bit slow to me, but I keep reminding myself that I'm 50 years old...so I can't expect it to come off like I was 25! I'm happy with the weight loss, and VERY happy I had the surgery. I've got one more week at home before heading back to work...not looking forward to THAT!
Gail
Hey Carol! I had my WLS the day before you, and I'm down 31lbs as of yesterday. On Friday, I had an appt w/my surgeon, and he said I was right on target for WL. Said that they look for 25-30lbs gone in the 1st month, 60lbs gone by the 6mo mark, and approx 100lbs by 1yr. Most of the posts I read are waaaaaay ahead of that, but it made me feel better to hear that I'm on track. I'm unable to really exercise right now due to an injured knee, but I walk some w/a brace on for now. I know if I could get my butt in gear and pick up the pace, it'd come off faster, but I'll take what I can get!
WTG on you loss!!!!
