I feel the same way, Kathy. If I drink water, most times it sits in my pouch like a stone and I don't feel very well. I have been drinking Fruit Refreshers Lemonade or decaf iced tea and that sits way better. There are times that I feel so thirsty I wish I could guzzle the whole bottle!! I just try and sip, sip, sip all day long. Try keeping an account of how much you are actually getting in. Hugs, Nancy

I just went to pureed foods and am having trouble getting my fluids in since you can't drink and eat at the same time (30 minutes each way for my doc). I try to sip constantly on water, and avoid guzzling even when I feel very thirsty like now. I swallow too much air if I do not really concentrate on sipping. Jules

Right now I'm trying to take a gulp every 5 minutes or so. I really have to concentrate on doing it. I got myself some of those small bottles of water, the 8 oz. size, and I keep refilling them. Today my goal is to drink four of them, which would give me 32 oz. plus my 2 4 oz. protein drinks and a 4 oz. V-8. It's 4:30 PM and I'm just starting on my third, so I don't know if I'll make it or not. I'll have to wait half hour before dinner and after, and it usually takes me a half hour to eat, so we'll see. We just have to keep on trying! Hugs, Nancy

I love decaf tea with a splenda. What I also found helpful is ice cubes. I pop one in my mouth until it melts and then go get another. Each cube is about 1 oz so it helps to track. Then my husband got me an ice shaver. yummy!! I just eat it by the spoonfuls. I just found da vincies sugerfree syrups so now I can make my own sluprees. Tasty. Much more interesting than just almost warm water and easier to get down. Sarah (3weeks post op lap rny)

Davincies sugar free syrups?????? Us poor Canadians don't have that I don't think and have never heard of it... but I miss slurpees... I love slurpees.... where do you buy it? I had surgery in the US and go back and forth to NY for follow up appointments. I'd love to pick some up when I'm there in a few weeks! Advice?????? As for the fluids, I must be one ofthe lucky ones. I am okay with my fluids, and I don't gulp but don't need to "space out" my little sips. I do get a bit of air but nothing I can't burp out quietly. I do find water sits heavy, so I save that for when I'm exercising or when I want to sip super slow. Crystal lite is good but has to be super watered down for me. I am getting most of my fluids in by drinking decaf Red Rose tea w/artificial sweetener and a bit of fat free milk. I can drink huge mugs of tea daily and without guilt since it is caffiene free. It is very soothing on your pouch, aids digestion, and for some reason doesn't sit heavy at all. I highly recommend it Melissa

Angular, I'm just walking. I try to do a mile each day, but it's been either hot or rainy here. I went over to my Mom's today and walked on her treadmill for 1/2 mile. I also have a Walk Away the Pounds tape that is low impact and easy. After about 20 minutes you have walked a mile and all it is is walking in place. I feel a lot better after I've done it. Nancy
