How many calories are you getting per day?
The first 2 weeks my doctor has me on around 500 calories or a little more each day. If I eat the soft foods next week as I am supposed to, I will also get in around 500 calories. Right now I am doing the protein shakes (week 2) and am having trouble getting it all in along with all the fluids. The shakes make me feel so full so quickly, but then also seem to wear off quickly.

I guess I am averaging around 500-600 calories per day and protein at about 50- sometimes higher. Anybody else have issues with night time
hunger? It wakes me in the middle of the night. The nutritionist tells
me that it is a dip in my blood sugar and to have something with protein.
So there I am at 2:00 eating yogurt or having a shake. Sometimes I think
these new little pouches are like baby bellies...demand feeding...eating
slow...colic...etc etc ! All in all, I can't complain. I started on pureed
foods yesterday- so far I can do mashed potatoes, applesauce, and
cottage cheese. I am not ravenously hungry- but I also haven't gotten
that terribly full feeling yet either. Maybe because I am too scared to
over eat. Look at us talking about calories - 300, 500 ...600- post
surgically we did that in one meal!!!! LOL
I noticed that a couple of you said that you use fitday. I tried it and had trouble figuring out how to change serving sizes. In other words if I had cottage cheese and I click on a compatible choice the stats might be for 1 cup when all I had was 1/4 of a cup. I saw a drop down for serving sizes but can't seem to change it. it was frustrating because then my amounts of protein and calories and such were off. Any ideas, did I miss something?

Jean, I started off on CIB, but there's only about 4g of protein in that. I checked with my surgeon and switched to Isopure 0 Carb powder and mixed one scoop of that with 4 oz. Carb Countdown and get in 30g of protein with each drink.
I have two drinks a day and that puts me in great shape with my protein. Just a thought... ...and of course, check with your surgeon first.
Hugs,
Nancy
