Itchy staples!!

My staples are so itchy!! It's not so bad if I'm sitting still, but the minute a piece of clothing rubs against them I feel like tearing them out!! Anyone else itchy? Hugs, Nancy

Hi Nancy- My staples were itchy also about 1 1/2 weeks after surgery. My doctor said that is my skin healing and repairing itself. Boy, that made me feel better! I am now 3 weeks out and had my surgery LAP. 4 of my bandages have come off and my scars are healing very nicely. The 5th one is within days of falling off too. I have started to put cocoa butter on the scars cause that does diminish their apperance over time. Hope this helps! Dawn WLS 7/6/04 292/263/250 (1st goal)

Hi Nancy, I had my surgery the 20th, and my staples itch too. I heard somewhere that the itching means that they're healing so it makes it alittle better

My staples were really itchy too...I was so glad when they took them out last week, but now my skin itsself is itchy! I've never had such dry skin before it's driving me nuts. Now if I could just get this last tube out, the gastric tube, hopefully it will come out next week, cause it's starting to hurt (which they say is normal!). Kelle

Mine too. I keep bandaids over them under my clothes or they get caught on my shirt. It does help the itchy part. Michelle
